Thanks for the thread, de5151. Any chance you have a .mq4 file for "Symbol changer profit display.v5" you could post? I am using an older version that I modified to read the pairs from a file in the common/files directory. Like your v5 better, but need to mod it to read the pairs symbols from a file. Thanks.

Also, VWAP gets a divide by zero error in the log file. Here is the error message from the log file: "VWAP XAUUSDi,M15: zero divide in 'VWAP.mq4' (61,30)". Post a .mq4 file for VWAP and I will fix this for you.

Hey, ok sure......on a bearish engulfing pattern you got 2 candles call it C1 & C2,draw a horizontal line at C1 open and C2 enguls C1 and wait on a retest of the OPEN/LOW price,drop to LTF and you always have some pips there.The setup becomes invalid if price CLOSE above the highs of C1/C2.You might observe price spikes above to remove you from any active positions,they love doing that all the time... but eventually it closes below the highs.Opposite for bullish engulfing pattern.

if one can get the volume figures in real time than he can take his trade without any indicators. I mean if I know bears volume is higher than the bulls so that does mean market to go further downside. is there any tools available that can guide about the volume ?

Hi Jazba

It doesn’t work that way, volume can be bearish but if the limit orders are stacked bullish, up it goes.
Buyers and sellers don’t decide on direction, it’s all about current liquidity density.
Cumulative delta can help a bit, but you need data from the futures market.

I would say neither, both work for swing trading.
More to the point, I would decide on your preferred time frame you will be trading before you look at indicators. Then the choice comes between being a trend / breakout trader or a Exhaustion reversal trader.

What tickles your fancy?.

I suggest you to check Big E strategy it similar to yours but with years of effectiveness

@aaronbronte Pivot points can be used but they work best when combined with other kinds of technical analysis which is not really feasible in scalping. You have to make quick decisions and just can’t spend your time applying different technical analysis tools. Also Pivot points are based on simple calculation which doesn’t ensure precise prediction. Pivot points are good for slightly long term trades when you have the time to take help of other tools. Although it’s a great way to identify the areas of support and resistance.

For crypto trade, we can get quote level 2 from biggest exchange like Binance.
Could you give us the way to trade with DOM or suggest the source we could learn to trade with DOM?

Hi livetolove

The issue with crypto is many traders stack their liquidity at the first available position to avoid market trades which cost more to execute - about 1% for many exchanges.
Therefore the DOM on crypto seems to be mainly cheap arse traders trying to save a penny.
This warps the order flow of crypto in my opinion - making it harder to establish current liquidity levels down the order book.

If I was you, I would focus only on recently executed market orders looking for exhaustion instead.

But hang around as I also have a Binance account and currently running some tests on this exact issue.

I tested delta based trading.m1-h1.
my experience is that there are very good times when you can make a profit .but if there is a lot of volatility, you can easily at aloss out and lose the profit you have made so fa.
if the volatility is higher then the delta approach is unreliable.

Forget the Delta for one moment, you need to establish what the baseline volume output is first, before understanding how to trade with Delta.

Delta is the eforts of smaller traders to seek their own market direction in direct compertetion against bigger players.
Sounds like a losing battle doesn't it, WILL ITS NOT.

You mentioned higher Volatility being bad for Delta, you have myself and ryuryu scatching our heads and thinking "what's the man talking about, here's an unloseable trade right here in front of your eyes".

Without volatility, trading with delta is an extremely difficuit game with only a small trading edge. Volatility is caused by a massive increase in volume thats way above baseline volume theshold and it takes the game away from bigger players and hands the baton over to the masses. Strong Delta becomes the sole factor now in deciding market direction but whats essential - high values of aggressive market orders


Better still - can you see the Delta controlling the market in this trade?
Both ryuryu and myself took this trade for a great result.

I took a trade at the "white 11" at the flipping of delta, the result was a single big trade provided my daily imcome.
And the trade lasted two minutes. GBPUSD London Session

Not even time to drink my coffee
