Hello, i'm slowly switching from forex trading to stock indexes trading, that are:
- DAX (the german top30 stocks index)
- CAC40 (the french top40 stocks index)
- Eustoxx50 (the eur top50 stocks index)
- FTSE100 (the england top100 stocks index)
- Dowjones (the US top30 stocks index)
- S&P500 (the US top500 stocks index)
Mostly i'm interested in the european indexes, because the trading costs (spread) are way better than the us ones.
Now, why the switch from forex to stock indexes, very simple, in the past few years (in my opinion) we've witnessed a constant degradation of the overall fx market solidity, surely this is due to the constant shrinking in the whole fx liquidity (like the eurusd), that have been more than halved within the last years, due to the continuous interventions from central banks (QE, not QE, cut rates, not cut rates, etc.), the various greece dramas, the politicians fake news (guy say this, after one hour say it's not true, bla bla bla), overall seems like many active strong participants have abandoned it, and the liquidity is suffering.
What does this mean, low liquidity means a lighter market, bigger volatility, a market easier to move in one direction or another for whatever or no reason at all.
The stock market on the other hand, is still enjoying a good liquidity, an overall solidness, no matter what a politician may say or what a central banker may do or what the crazy news hit the wires, whenever we see crazy movements on a currency or another, the stock market seems to not be affected at all from the manipulation machine, it do trend well, it do respect some sort of chaotic order, and it also have a great volatility.
Just looking at the dax, an average daily range of 300points and only 1point of spread, way better than any fx currency pair.
So these are the reasons of why i'm giving stock indices a try, and i am looking around to see if there is the interest in open a sort of chatroom (totally free for everybody) where indices-traders can exchange opinions and ideas about the various indices.
Just reply here if interested, once we reach a 4-5 members we can officially open the chatroom (i thought about open a skype chatroom) and meet there! (of course everybody will always be free to join at anytime also after the chat has been created).
Chatroom Rules:
- Conversations focused on trading (it's fine to have a chit-chat about life and other things some time, but let's just focus on the markets).
- No offenses, be respectful with everybody.
- No childish fights in the room, a moderator would promptly ban whoever is fighting.
- You want to be a moderator, just ask (we would need a few moderators to keep the room in control 24h).
- Just be serious people.
The main topic of the room is stock indices, it's ok to point out some interesting opportunities also about currency pairs from time to time, but the main subject here is stock indices.
Below the link to the room (you must have skype installed in order for it to work):
Just copy this and paste it in internet explorer address bar:
