If I can add my two cents here ...

IMHO, it is crucial for traders to understand Supply and Demand.

Here's why :

1) What is the Market ... The Market IS Supply and Demand.

2) What is Supply and Demand ... Supply and Demand IS the Market.

Traders who "know" and "understand" Supply and Demand, "know" and "understand" the Market.

Traders who know and understand the Market are not guessing the market.

Expect a pop up when everyone is short and a drop when everyone is bullish. Price manipulation is all over the news these days about currencies and Gold.

Jack in normal conditions you are right but this particular market _is_ rigged and nothing from the laws of S/D applies. And as far as I know it's not the only market with interventions.

Most interventions are usually in the exact opposite of what people are betting on.

I understand how you feel.

Even if the market is "rigged", the laws of Supply and Demand still apply fully.

Remember in one of my previous posts, I mentioned that Price Action (i.e. fluctuations) on your charts can ONLY occur because of variations in Supply and Demand.

So even if the Market is "rigged", the ONLY way the people who rig the Market can affect the Market is by varying Supply and Demand.

So, if you can measure Supply and Demand, the people who rig the Market are far less likely to be able to fool you!
