I will retire from the rat-race in a few more years to the land that my dear Dad says "Everyday is Saturday".
My intention on getting involved with forex was to avoid becoming the Wal-mart greeter as a way to pass the time in my retirement years. I have seen far too many retired folks decide after they retired, that they should go back to work to avoid being bored at home. I can tune in my laptop to IBFx and Oanda, and I am never bored. EU, GU, AU, EAud, GAud, AJ, EJ, GJ (Dragon), NJ, AN...so many things to scan through looking for the diamonds in the rough.
I got to reading the J16 thread in 2009...liked what I saw...and subscribed to their Private Forum side in Jan 2010. I stuck with it and slowly I started to see that forex was indeed a doable thing. Use a small amount of money on each trade, have reasonable expectations, and know when you're out of synch with what's going on and you should quit for the day.
It's not the FX market that has changed my life for the better...it's the amazing people that I met in the market, that changed my life after FX. I have a rich huge number of people in this commuity that care about me and each other. An thanks to this media we call FF, we can exchange viewpoints on our favorite topics...and help each other become better traders.
Life changed for me for the better after I discovered this thing we call FX.
Best,
Eric
