German GDP in the 1st quarter of 2026 up 0.3% on the previous quarter
The gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.3% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the fourth quarter of 2025 - following adjustment for price, seasonal and calendar variations - after already increasing at the end of 2025 (by a revised +0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared with the previous quarter; previously: +0.3%). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that both household and government final consumption expenditure in the first quarter of 2026 were higher than in the previous quarter.
