"The C-5M Super Galaxy is the United States Air Force's largest strategic airlifter, capable of transporting massive, oversized cargo loads over intercontinental ranges.

It can carry up to 147,000 pounds (66,721 kilograms) of cargo, including heavy combat equipment like tanks and helicopters.

"Flight Intensity: Since January 2026, at least 10 to 15 C-5M heavy transport missions have been recorded directly to Saudi Arabia (Prince Sultan Air Base), while the total number of heavy aircraft flights (including C-17s) to the region has exceeded 130.

Presence at the base: Satellite imagery from February and March 2026 showed the simultaneous presence of several (usually 2 to 3) large transport aircraft on the Prince Sultan airbase stands during surges.

Recent Activity: In the last 48 hours alone (mid-April 2026), at least two new C-5M arrivals from European bases (such as Ramstein and Aviano) have been recorded as part of an emergency delivery of air defense systems."

"Air Defense Systems: Patriot and NASAMS components, including large radar units and launchers, are being delivered to bolster defenses at bases like Prince Sultan (PSAB).

Heavy Armored Vehicles: The C-5M is the only aircraft capable of carrying two M1 Abrams tanks or multiple infantry fighting vehicles at once, which is critical for current force rotation.

Helicopters: Often transport up to six AH-64 Apache attack helicopters (with propellers removed) to support ground operations.

Strategic Ammunition Stockpiles: Due to heightened tensions, aircraft are delivering massive quantities of precision-guided munitions and missiles to be stored in regional hubs."
