German wholesale prices in March 2026: +4.1% on March 2025
The selling prices in wholesale trade were 4.1% higher in March 2026 than in March 2025. In each of the months from December 2025 to February 2026, the year-on-year rate of change stood at +1.2%. A higher year-on-year price increase than that in March 2026 was last recorded in February 2023 (+9.5% on February 2022). The significant price increase registered in March 2026 was largely attributable to the conflict in Iran and the Middle East, which resulted in higher wholesale prices of energy products and raw materials, in particular.
