The Conference Board Leading Economic Index (LEI) for China Ticked Down in September
The Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for China ticked down by 0.1% in September 2025 to 146.7 (2016=100), after contracting by 0.4% in August. As a result, the LEI declined by 2.0% over the six-month period from March to September 2025, continuing a 1.3% decline over the previous six-month period between September 2024 and March 2025. The Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for China increased by 0.4% in September 2025 to 156.5 (2016=100), after expanding by 0.3% in August.
