Hello All,
I have a general template of an EA that I use to test systems. At the moment I am testing a indicator "better volume indicator" and I am trying to use it in my EA. The problem is icustom is unable to read correctly from the indicator buffers. I have printed the values and it is passing nothing to expert advisor. To me it seems icustom is unable to read from array values from indicator(Please correct me here if I am wrong). Here is what I am doing:

From the Indicator MQL file. I get the buffers:
SetIndexBuffer(0,red);
SetIndexStyle(0,DRAW_HISTOGRAM,0,width2);
SetIndexLabel(0,"Climax High ");

SetIndexBuffer(4,white);
SetIndexStyle(4,DRAW_HISTOGRAM,0,width2);
SetIndexLabel(4,"Climax Low ");

In my EA: I use:
double up = iCustom(Symbol(), Period(), "vol", 0, 1);
double down = iCustom(Symbol(), Period(), "vol", 4, 1);

Now when there is climax high/low volume, indicator shows it as a positive number (indicator pic attached).
Buy/sell conditions in my EA is also given below:
if(up > 0 && BuyTicket == 0) { OrderSelect(SellTicket,SELECT_BY_TICKET)

I have also attached the indicator mql file and also expert advisor. If anyone can have a look at it, I would be extremely thankful.

It still the same .It will start with open 3 pending buy and 3 pending sell.

Hello All,
Regarding my previous question, I have printed values returned by icustom and they are empty values (2147483647). Why icustom is unable to read the value from the indicator ?
can anyone please help me with this ? I have tried almost everything I could find in the documentation and online.

1/ Are you changing the LEVELS value in the Expert Properties tab of the tester or in the MetaEditor?

2/ If you change any values using the MetaEditor you need to open the Expert Properties tab on the tester and click on reset for the code to update otherwise the old settings remain in place.

3/ If all else fails find a thread on this Forum that goes into how to use the MT4 tester.

Cja,The picture u shows are right.But u go to the results there.It initially will be three pending sell orders and three pending buy orders.Did u notice it?

Indeed it will be one level but it will be three sell stop and three buy stop at the 1 level.

hi CJA kindly help recoding this indicator,its very heavy on charts,if l open two charts it freezes,please code for me.l would kindly request you put an alert when the two lines crosses,thank you have attached the indi.As l said it freezes my charts.thank you in advance

I have already done that. That is too easy
I just made another copy of the indicator for uploading it. That is not the reason why iCustom is unable to read the values. If you would like to test it yourself.
vol.mq4 is the indicator (MQL4/indicators)
vpa.mq4 is the ea (MQL4/scripts)
IncludeExample.mqh(MQL4/include)

iCustom is still unable to read it correctly. I have asked it on other(MQL4) forums also and so far noone has been able to resolve it
