Anyone interested in coding up a simple MA ea . Needs to be adjustable periods and shift values. The main focus on the entry or exits is the shift value of the ma on the cross not the usual above or below ma method . As attached it can be seen the two same valued sma's but one i have a negative shift the same as the periods , generally you will see a reaction on this cross with a negative shift . The buy or sell needs to be selective via the ea menu so it can be loaded on the various time frames based on the direction of mas. The leader is not the entry the lagger on the cross is if that makes sense.

I suspect why you have not had a response is because generally showing a lower time frame as an MTF cannot be done accurately for an on chart indicator possibly it could be done as a dashboard type of indicator.

Let me know if this does the trick. It is completely flexible so you can use shift on either MAs. Also I have set fixed TP and SL as well as options of trailing stop and BE. Make sure that if you don't want to use trailing stop, you can set this one to 0 but for break even, disabling it just leave it at an unattainable value like 10000 pips.

I think this should work. if it doesn't let me know and I will try to sus it out.

Thanks Daniel , The charts above have 2x sma's period 17 with one a negative shift of -17. The idea was to long as the 17 sma with negative shift hit the 17 sma with 0 shift . I will check out your Ea.

Sorry I have not carefully noticed what period you were using and shift. In any way, you can use any MA period to cross and MA period at whichever desired shift that you wish to choose on either MA be it 0 or be it -17 shift. If your system doesn't work, at least you can test other MA periods and shift as you wish.

In any way, let me know if you need me to change anything. It can be done relatively simple.

In addition to CJA's explanation, you may want to refer to mladen's comment:

"Every lower time frame display on a higher time frame chart loses data. There is no way to avoid that (regardless of the code used - for example : there is simply no way to display sixteen 15 minute bars values in one 4 hour bar - that is not possible)
That indicator will, in the case of 15 minute display on a 4 hour chart, display a 15 minute value of the start of the 4 hour period and then ignore next 15 values, and so on and on. People often forget that higher time frame has less data than lower time frame (lower data time resolution) and that you can not see lower time without a loss"

I know rsi divergence indicators are an old hat, but as a part of a strategy they can bring lots of excellent trades.
