I ask myself every trade day Is Gold today a Commodity or is it a Currency form.
This keeps it simple for me.

Today Gold is a commodity. The hyper sell-off came almost purly from the DX Helium Injection fueld by the EURO tanking as thats the instruments biggest component. Europe's possible financial wow's are clouding the view of the completely screwed U.S. dollar.

The gold is at this time far too dependant on the DX tracking. Why? I believe mainly because None of us gold traders really feel compfortable shorting gold, at least not for very long (in this current global condition). But the U.S. Buc still today remains a quick excuse for a asset savior at least from the short term speculation point of view.

So when the Dx shows Upward motivation gold bugs close longs and divert money to DX longs short term. I say bugs now> the Gold hard cor's hang or side step waiting for a sign of a bounce in gold back upwards.

As for news Zoids These talking heads can't say anything more than the cost of gold is too high for foreign holders. Everytime the thing moves a 5 dollar turn down.

The scope of this post is directed at the New and little experienced gold traders. Don't be so in tune with the fundamentals here, they can and will turn on you without logic at all.

Expect gold to be vulnerable to the downside as the "I told ya So's get their 15 minutes of fame with Gold lurking towards the 1000 mark again.
Excited paranoia and euphoric moods are on high. Do use your technicals with caution as the dust clears and directive logic regains the helm, hence Europe is being pegged a loser right now giving the Buc a break, lets not forget toyota's delima may have a percentage effect on downed metals as they are a metals commodity user.

Technicals:
medium Potential possible supporting stall points:
1062.90
1056.50
1047.50
1038.60

Way back up Resistance area's of concern to magic 1100 again:

1093.60
1087.10
1078.20
1069.30

Looks like the Miners & Producers made out today so as long as they sold the physical unit at the closing Fix.

That hurt like a bitch, I've never lost 3500 € in a single day before ... and all this within few hours while I was away.... damn, it's the first time I close a gold position with a loss and I'm trading it for more than 3 years now, the emotional hit on my ego is even bigger than the financial one. There go 3 months of "hard work" within few hours.

there's a first time for everything

better pay 3,500 € now to learn something than 350,000 € later to learn the same

do not trade gold if you are a new trader .

trade eu ....

gold will kill your acocunt very fast if you do not have experience.

I trade gold futures $100 per $1 move per contract and it even makes me nerouvs at times.

I prefer 6e , 6b or es

Oanda will let you trade spot gold with minimum contract size of 1$.

For every dollar gold moves, your PL moves by the same amount.

Though they also have silver, which quotes pips to the fourth decimal place, but moves in 1 cent increments, so a 1 dollar SL is 1000 pips. Because of this silver provides better granularity for position sizing if you're trading a small account.

Investors will eventually be realizing that shifting money from Greek, Portuguese and Spanish bonds to the supposed safe haven of U.S. Treasurys or German bunds isn't going to be the solution, since even the stronge' countries themselves are facing uncontrollable budget deficit crises of their own. (Just got to love the Dollar Dillusional delima)

With the safety of U.S. and German debt soon starting to become questioned as well, the default-and-inflation proof asset class of precious metals will most certainly become an increasingly popular investment alternative again! Might silver surpass gold in the long run as the poor man's metal gets a good polishing?

For now, gold has found some marshly bottoming and traders will have to be patient and see if upside volume materializes.

TECHNICALS:

1059
1049 High caution on sustained breach!

Key Flooring levels for today "Close below by Yorks end says the cash cow chewers still can't see the forest for the trees of paper blindeth their view of the gold of OZ..." (I'd follow the yellow brick road with caution.)

As for topping:
1086
1080
1076/78
Are levels of key consideration for a rebirth towards sustaining the 1100 area as a fair value flooring, at least in a microcosmic way
