btw, price has not returned at "point of news release".., usually it happens.., i call it "bon ton"
4382th - can we see it as still possible target(?!).., i do not know
now i am watching if price wants be above 4170th

next Fed release on 29th of July, next week

Where did this gap come from? I dont see any news. It is literally bigger than the gaps seen after weekends.

Can be many reasons...
Not only news are the origin of gaps, but closes...
I can give you one, we close below 50% 9 am Ny candle, can just be tap the open to go higher.
It close below 2 deviations of fractal open of yesterday, fail to secure above and so on...
Them you have potential weekly template seeking monday....
In fact i close my little runner at the gap down, just because i don't like gaps, they can be many things.

Totally normal, SL doesn’t trigger when price gaps below your SL, it triggers only when price really reaches the sl, not gap

My guess: the broker’s feed was live and printing that wick, but order execution / SL triggering wasn’t actually enabled yet at that exact second. I’ve seen some brokers show quotes right at session reopen (00:00) but not actually let you trade or trigger stops until a few minutes later — like 00:05. So even though the wick clearly touched your SL on the chart, it might not have fired because the broker’s execution engine hadn’t fully ‘opened’ yet, not because of a gap or slippage.

Check the trading time window on the symbol info in metatrader. Some brokers can have different price quotes time interval and trading time interval. Especially around market open those time windows can differ for a few minutes.

That means that you can get a price quote but it is not in a trading window hence no order (SL) couldn't be triggered.
