I mean breaking a 20 day high would really confirm a bullish bias but the current 20 day high is 4215. War news is going to enter a muddy area if gold selling is exhausted so I'd just expect slow and steady lower highs

The price should now pull back to around 4040 from there we could see a bullish rally to at least 4170. We have broken the trend line, and I doubt it is a fakeout we held that line too strongly.

My first target should be under 4125. Need a rejection pattern for confirmation

yeah like the other person said they've never really moved together historically. The war just caused a trend of: oil rises > rate hikes expected > gold is sold to fund bond purchases

The Volume "Tell"

  1. The decline from $4,075 to $4,062 is happening on shrinking volume (1.5K – 2.0K).
  2. This tells us: There is no aggressive selling panic. Instead, it is slow distribution – institutions are gradually unloading long positions or adding shorts, but they are not dumping.

Interpretation: We are in a slow melt-down scenario. Price is likely to drift lower to $4,052 or $4,036 over the next few hours, rather than crash violently.
