us10y has more of a impact than DXY

both should be used together not just one this is what works well for me, With us10 still dropping and below the trend pattern and with gold at almost key levels I’d keep a close eye

i think so too. - ive been seeing bullish activity all day and hit my SL but the trend is our friend. trend says bearish. NY will reverse in a heartbeat. we saw that yesterday.

A good tip too is do is do a minimum of 3 time frame analysis NEVER just one. Ill give you an example 5min could be trending bullish but your buying on a HTF downtrend then boom 1 candle nuke wiped. Institutions actively hunt liquidity, people who tell you its a myth its not, retail is one of the most free money for a bank on the face of the earth do your HTF analysis before jumping straight in. I swing (not as big as others) but its still technically swing I do hold trades over night so my timeframes might be a little different to others my minimum is 1h so 1h,4h,1D,1W,1M that's the analysis I do but I think you get the picture DONT STAY on 1 timeframe it will bite you over and over.

Unless your a swinger its good to look at 10Y but I suggest looking at 02Y more than 10Y still technically the same chart but its kind of less delayed data if that makes sense.

I'm glad I finally got a more detailed reply. To be honest, I wasn't expecting such a good response, so thanks—I really appreciate it.
If you're interested, I mainly trade on the 1H timeframe. When I'm starting out, I try to use the smallest position size possible so any losses stay small. I don't focus too much on the lower timeframes because there's just too much information happening at once for me. On the 1H timeframe, I get a much better TP/SL ratio, and overall it feels more reliable to me.
I'd say I'm more of a scalper—I usually take a few pips and get out with a profit rather than holding trades for a long time.

Good Morning Fellow Traders!

Fridays are a no-trade day for me, unless the M30 picks up a move.
We may see this today if XAU drops below 3985 the algorithm will kick in.

This week has been excellent so far!
Improvements I could make are staying out of the way of the algorithm and NOT CLOSING EARLY.
There is almost always more to come in any sort of a big move.
Then after closing early, I'll see the move continue, and either have missed that portion, or FOMO get back in at a much lower R:R.

So that's been a lesson for me for a long time, you have to HOLD, and even with an algo, you want to grab that profit - even when it's only half done.

This is, for any newbies, the CORE PSYCHOLOGY and HARDEST HABIT TO BREAK and will be the ONE THING THAT HOLDS YOU BACK FROM TRUE SUCCESS.
* not holding to target and * holding onto losers (eg., proper risk management).
You are always more attached to losing positions and your brain is wired to worry about the 'sunk costs' of a losing trade far moreso than the potential profit of a winning trade. I of course KNOW THIS but in the heat of the moment it can be VERY HARD to overcome. That's why I wrote an algorithm to trade for me, but even with it running, I find myself closing trades early. I need to just leave the room and remember the backtested PF includes full stop outs, and full take profits, without my interference. This is pure psychology - trying to feel in control, trying to avoid loss, and the brain trying to save energy and avoid pain.
Once I've 100% overcome this ONE THING I can easily do 50% a day. Until then, only 20% per day.

Anyways just sharing this with you all. If you take serious trading courses they will tell you, this one thing is the hardest to overcome. You can overcome overtrading and do great analysis and be patient and disciplined, but not holding to target will be the death of a good trading career. Another way to look at this is when they say 'you can't go broke taking profit early' - NOT TRUE. Because of the psychology we all have, if you are a take-profit-early person, you will also be a holding-onto-losers person, which means you'll take full stop outs, but never full profits. This math will destroy you (or me) long term.

I hope that helps one person reading this. It sure has helped me. It's the one thing I still do wrong on occassion. And in this game, you can't make mistakes. You can have failed procedures, failed setups, but you cannot make mistakes.
