i found several times where metatrader historical price data can sometimes provide wonky data.

the solution that i found was to gather my own historical data.. i do have the bid/ask prices and i do have a built-in clock.

Who needs a Print() of what's already on the chart, and we can read it if we want, directly from the chart.
And the .hst file is already available in MT4!

i was actually one of the early beta testers of the metatrader 3 platform. this was back around 2003, iirc..

metatrader 4 was a refreshing upgrade(2005-ish), and at that time i already had extensive api and low level programming experience under my belt.

in order to figure out why you are getting different values, first i would need to know a couple of things..

a) do you have the source code for the indicator that we are talking about?

if you want to know why you are getting different results on different terminals, you pretty much gotta get your hands dirty and crawl under the hood of that code and then figure out which INPUT VALUES are different...

The source code of the indicator will tell you nothing, it's the same.
You would need the price data from both sources, and you would also need a lot more info, because the trader may be missing something, like maybe they forgot to update the historical data? MT4 doesn't update the data automatically.
There is no data for JPY, NZD, AUD, CAD, CHF, GBP, EUR, USD.
This value needs to be calculated from the existing data of Forex Pairs.
And, if the user didn't open the charts, the data is not up-to-date!
The difference is only for NZD, and CAD.
The rest are identical values.
And, there may be someyhing else which we don't know about if we don't see what the user sees.

I read your post a couple times more, and now I think that I understand.
So, you are running MT4 provided by XM, and another one by FBS?
And then you are logging in to FBS via the XM platform?
That's possible, but may result in such differences, because there will be a conflict.
You should always use the platform which you downloaded from the broker.
MT4 is distributed to brokers by MetaQuotes LTD.
Each broker customizes their specific MT4 platform to their specific standards.
This means a lot of things.

1. Different price feed routing
MT4 terminals aren't fully generic — each broker's build typically ships with a specific servers.dat file containing addresses for their own server clusters. When you manually add FBS's server info into XM's terminal, you're relying on FBS's public server address rather than the deeply integrated one XM's terminal would use for its own broker. If FBS operates multiple server clusters (e.g., FBS-Real, FBS-Real2, regional variants) with slightly different liquidity providers or feed sources, XM's terminal might connect to a different cluster/endpoint than FBS's own terminal does — even under the same account type — leading to small but real price discrepancies that cascade into different CSI values.
2. Symbol suffixes and naming
Broker terminals often customize the Market Watch symbol list and naming conventions (e.g., EURUSD vs EURUSDm) as part of their white-labeled build. If the CSI indicator loops through a hardcoded symbol list and XM's terminal doesn't have FBS's exact naming/suffix setup baked in, some pairs could silently fail to load or pull from unexpected data.
3. Bundled/pre-installed indicator differences
Some brokers pre-bundle their own version of common indicators (including CSI variants) with tweaked defaults as part of their terminal package. If XM's terminal came with its own baked-in CSI indicator rather than the exact same .ex4 file used on FBS's terminal, you're not comparing apples to apples even before data comes into play.
4. History/cache mismatch (still applies)
Same as before — since XM's terminal has never talked to FBS's servers before you added it manually, its local .hst history cache for FBS's feed starts from scratch and may not be fully synced yet, especially on less liquid pairs.
My best guess for the main cause: #1 (server/feed routing) is the most likely explanation for genuinely different numeric output, since CSI is just a weighted calculation across multiple pairs' price action — even tiny feed differences compound quickly across a multi-pair basket. #2 and #3 would more likely cause missing data or crashes rather than subtly different numbers.
If you want to confirm, you could compare raw spread/price on a single pair (like EURUSD) at the same timestamp on both terminals — if prices differ even slightly there, that confirms it's a feed/routing issue rather than the indicator itself.
