So I saw a post talking about this. It's basically algorithmic trading. Institutions have bots set up to parse data and basically 24/7 monitor things. Then act on the data once it is triggered. Happens in micro seconds.

In times like these, intraday analysis is practically meaningless; a single tweet and a lot of market manipulation are enough to break the lines. I had already decided I wouldn't trade tomorrow, and now even the thought of trading again on Monday scares me.

I said it is almost a must be test, and why, was ny macro manipulation.
Sometimes they just average, they just need a reason and trump give it, is like news, they use all of this to complete patterns.

Do you think it's worthwhile, then, to use paid software to analyze order flow in conjunction with technical analysis, or even to use it more effectively than technical analysis alone?

I think like most indicators it is a lagging indicator and entirely depends on how someone uses the data. Information is always useful if the person has a strategy that it feeds into.

Us mere mortals will never get access to the top of algo system these institutional players can play with.

Technical analysis for me is always top. Followed by discipline. Everything else is only a bonus if it feeds into your strategy and enough time has been taken to truly understand the data and incorporate it properly

My last contribute...
For people think...
Macros should be played 15m and lower, i basically use 15m because of volatility...
But see the image below, verify the 15m close and then if anyone want to say the spike from where it come is random or need a quick data reading is up to them...
They know where to reach, take partials whatever... Or in the end like i always say is a bunch of algos inside a big one....
This prices are always tested if break, we had 4420, then we have this and so on.
Sorry but this and others are all over the chart, but is not enough know what to do when we are right, but know what to do when faill... Without beeing prepared to both sides, sorry but the dependence of some kind of edge in the market is huge...
We need to make the homework every day, day trader is not easy and is not a 5m job.

its a disservice ur doing to tell beginners to average up or down...it will just make them lose their accounts so much quicker

Actually, there is a strong support right there at 4351 on 4H timeframe. I was waiting for buy sign and then boom. Not as I expected but still got some profits in 2 minutes. So technical analysis still works but Trump added a little push this time...
