But why? The big money is actually in a move like this - where you gain on both the trend and the retracement. You just need to make sure you follow marked structure before exiting or entering on the retrace.

While fully hedged - you don't really care where price goes.

Thank you all for the generous and detailed replies to my earlier questions — I really appreciate the time and knowledge you've shared.
Weekend gave me some free time to backtest and put your insights into practice, including following @bdsilvano's 19/03/2026 Asia guided session live, which's trades are drawn in my post #1049.

I finally interiorized the approach of this thread consists in Asia-session scalping with hedges and then capture the NY reversal.


For a 0 spread&commissions broker there's effectively no difference between carrying the Asia hedge into NY than closing book at the end of Asia and opening a fresh single-direction NY reversal trade.

The NY reversal part is fairly straightforward (plenty of ways to identify reliable S/R), so that's not my main question.

What truly confuses me is the Asia scalping itself. No matter which exit rules I tried s/r trendlines etc, drawdown quickly becomes uncontrolled. One missed/unrespected level forces rehedge at a loss and wipes out prior profit, ending in break even. If I try to use HTF (which looks like you guys don't for Asia scalps) it just becomes my usual strategy — nothing new to this method.

So my question to the traders who post screenshots of control and profitability in Asia (@forkstrader, @mysticj, @musabnis, @Tommypang, @bdsilvano): What is the concrete, scalping strategy you use during the Asia session? I know it's hedge, harvest green, new hedge set etc, but there must be a criteria used for when to do it! Also, yes I watched the video, it doesn't show how to generalize what he did.

It can't be 100% discretionary there must be defined rules. No offense intended at all; this thread grew large and I 100% sure I'm not the only one struggling to connect the dots here.

why we trade on Asia? bcz we can make easy money on asia. Just used 0.02 lot closed 179£ while 94£ full hege drawdown opens. Even if i closed all
. Still i am in profit

it really depends on how well you know the market, if you’re confident you don’t have to unhedge in ny you can leave the hedge for a few days and wait for the real low or high, or you can do what you’ve mentioned as well but it’s not for everyone that’s why I said safer to just call it a day

at Asia all you do is after your initial hedge near POC of day wait for some good pips, 100 pips is a good amount, depends on if it’s reached s/r but generally every 100 pips or so you can add new hedge and close the profits. The profit collection in Asia is more or less random

I'm done for the day.

I'm still opening way to many positions - but it's working.
Think I should move up a timeframe or two.

there is none,,, actually,,, we dont trade normally in asia, we are just collecting green actually only we trade at NY everday thats all.

today is 1 side trade ok,,, Trend following if you can say, find any position for a good sell, probably on NY.

this strategy hard to explain and to understand without practice . i practiced demo and simulator.
Today traded live and 357$ profit and closed. I will trade live by this strategy.
Plz those who has confusion , first practice on demo.

yes true, its so hard to explain, as many will question and have doubt, but once you practise and understand the core... you will never going to use any other... and this is the only way. But I tell you some Days are good for Trend Following and some are for ranging. this is for ranging.

Also my suggestion is dont go live yet, until you master this... and can effectively rely to your skills already.

i cant setup volume profile perfectly, help us whats the settings use for getting levels,, thanks

Always remember, if the price goes against your open position, just hedge to compensate the loosing position, dont think anymore, just full hedge.

But make sure also when you full hedge, the difference pips betweeb Buy and Sell, is acceptable range, meaning you know price will come back as well, sometimes, ive seen people hedge too late, and they do hedging for 1000 pips... thats was too far

Yes, a combination - but also a bit more sell side since the marked allready had decides that is was not going to accumulate in Aisia - since it did so in late new york friday and Sidney.

And then I reset a about 4 times - and then took a leap of faith and closed all open positions once it started going south and I had a good chunk open.
