I didn't ask who can buy it. I asked who IS buying it. And more specifically what is wrong with their brain?

Many things are free. The universe is filled with abundance. Scarcity is mostly artificial. When scarcity is imposed, conservatives spring up in abundance like weeds.

If you don't want to pay income tax then don't make income. You have a choice.

Why buy bonds that can only be repaid by issuing more bonds? No bank would issue me credit if I used one credit card to pay another, especially if I said default is maybe nothing.

There is no guarantee. Debt is 120% of GDP and interest alone is the biggest expense, so the gov is issuing debt just to pay the interest. There is no plan or desire to rein in spending or raise taxes. Now with inflation spiraling out of control the interest will go even higher.
