My take is this, The US and Israel do not want the strait open until they can manage it themselves (Fantasy booking). Iran has stated they will allow Chinese and Russian vessels to traverse freely through the strait.

To the west, China and Russia being able to do business while they are frozen out is not acceptable to them even though they cannot enforce or influence anything in the strait.

This mine story is most likely western forces mining the strait to make it untraveresable for ANYONE.

BUT the campaign is not progressing as hoped and a move to completely shut the strait will end up hurting allies more than russia and china who can still trade hydrocarbons via pipeline etc...

Its a very interesting situation.. where they don't want russia and china to benefit from the str8 but they need the strait open themselves Like reserves needed for years since Iran can hold out long term and even destroy the means to produce in middle east.

This by all indications was a last ditch all in effort where *poker analogy* the Board and runner cards are not coming out the way west needed to win this hand

America is a corporation with different departments. Media is their marketing and PR dept. American citizens are clueless employees who think that the company has their best interests at heart. It tells them capitalism is good, yet they are all forced to self-sacrifice and work hard collectively for a common good (socialism) but once that common good is achieved, that's when capitalism takes over and all the money gets shared amongst the board members and top-level management, a huge chunk gets reinvested back into the company to grow it further, a sizeable chunk of the dividends goes back to the same upper level click as shareholders (having awarded themselves stock options as part of their compensation structure), and then the peasant employees (citizens) get to fight over the leftovers. That sums up every capitalist and communist govt, the only good ones are the few socialist democracies that exist.

Russia dont use the strait though, INSTC(photo) is not fully complete yet, even if it was, Iran is under war and it would make it very risky for Russia to use inland rails after entering Iran through the caspain sea.

China needs the strait most, so does other Asian nations, including med sea EU nations.

But it is an interesting theory - so far, no war ships dear to go close to the strait to mine it, only civilian tankers stuck on either side and I doubt the gulf monarchies have any mines.

Maybe airdropped?
