    President Trump told The Post that he has “a plan” to tackle surging oil prices caused by the war with Iran after the cost per barrel briefly neared $120 — 65% higher than the pre-war price — before settling above $100 Monday morning. “I have a plan for everything, okay?” Trump said in a brief phone interview on the 10th day of the joint US-Israeli war with Iran. “I have a plan for everything. You’ll be very happy.” Trump did not provide additional detail — though he has a variety of options, including the release of oil from strategic reserves. US and Israel think the Iran's gov cares about lives of their citizen's as much as they do.

A few American soldiers dead and everyone freaks out. A few Israel soldiers die and it's like end of the world.
Then thousands of Iranian people and army personell die and Iran says yah kill more of us any time.

The west thinks Iran would care about the number of the killed people just like the west cares and they think Iran would react to that the same as the west.

The understanding of the middle east culture especially the Muslim culture has always been an issue for the west. They'll never get it.

Personally, I’d say panic

If not replenished, global strategic oil reserves—designed as a temporary cushion for emergencies rather than a long-term supply—would last for a very short period, with estimates suggesting they could be depleted in less than one month (roughly 20 to 27 days) in a scenario of massive, sustained global disruption (e.g., closing the Strait of Hormuz).

He has no plan, he fired all the experts relating to mid east policy and relationships so he could ignore their hard won wisdom on Iran and attack it so Iran and Venezuela oil needs by China could be filled by the Saudis to pay back the billions they have given he and Jared Kushner......2bil to Kushners fund....!bill in Trump Crypto bought by them.... its always greed and ego for Trump.... There is a lot of chatter regarding ending the war.
Even Trump himself pointing at it.

Anything less than a regime change in Iran is a total defeat of US and Israel.
Imagine a country that has been under sanctions for over a decade defeating the strongest country in the world and its right hand Israel.

How will Trump explain that?

Both are high risk strategies with body bag counts .

Alternatively , an off ramp ; save face and use the diplomatic channels. Iran have bunkered down and are prepared to stay in the game .

Boots on the ground is a soundbite. It probably appeals to Pete and Don as it has a macho ring to it. The reality (i believe) is putting US boots on the ground is in the interest of Isreal and Iran, not the US. Isreal gets reduced risk (economic and military). Iran gets asymmetric advantage. US gets an even costlier war.

‘What happens to Iranian society once bombs stop falling?’
Alan Eyre, a senior US negotiator on the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, says the US and Israel might have different goals in their war against Iran.

“It seems like Israel’s war goal is the collapse of the Iranian state, and the United States has been far less clear about what its goals are to stop military action,” said Eyre, now a diplomatic fellow at the Middle East Institute, based in Washington DC.

Eyre said it is possible the war will stop “in four to six weeks.”

“President Trump, based on his own internal reasoning, will declare victory and move to another issue,” he said. “[But] what happens to Iranian society once the bombs stop falling?”
