I also believe that, institutional investors have been manipulating gold a lot lately, in an extremely aggressive way. Could it be that American institutional investors are afraid that gold will appreciate even more and definitively take the podium as the safest asset for safe haven? (I say this because a few days ago, I don't remember exactly when, but it said that gold was about to surpass or had surpassed the dollar as a safer asset than the dollar for safe investment; I'm looking for the website where I read the article, but it was something like that, for sure.)

It's just people making money.
If I had big enough positions to move the price, I'd do it too.
Haha, all you retail traders... thanks for the liquidity...

My expensive EA which receives signals occassionally has tried to go long on gold three days in a row now.
Thankfully I closed the positions in profit, and for today, just following the 15 minute all the way down.

In my opinion, this is just gold-market manipulation—institutions shaking the tree to scoop up liquidity from overleveraged, FOMO retail traders (via stop-loss hunts and margin calls). Honestly, that kind of behavior wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Fundamentally, though, gold still has room to keep rising for a ton of reasons. I’m a bit bored to write a full essay here, but you can easily find the arguments yourself.

Also, the Middle East crisis sent oil and gas prices to the moon. If the dollar keeps losing value on top of that, the current political lobby in the U.S. loses a lot of leverage/power—so I think that could be another motive behind this kind of move/manipulation in the short run.

That said… I got absolutely fucked today on XAUUSD.

Anyway, that’s all I can think of from my dilettante point of view. Wishing you all profitable trades.

taking away the other aspects manipulation, liquidity, etc... iran has been attacking bases, blocked the strait and oil supply is declining and oil is in demand, to buy oil you need dollar. and dollar as we know is inversely propotional to gold, so the safe haven game continues between them. however this dump will follow a bull run, as someone in dubai and hearing the sounds, its only the start of war i assume.
