He knows that the Republicans are facing increasing odds of an unfavorable mid-term election result. He is doing anything and everything to create a "rally 'round the flag' narrative," whether that be war with Venezuela or war with Iran, that is what he believes he needs to distract Americans from the persistently higher prices brought on by his tariffs, the softening jobs market, and most of all, the fact that Trump's name appears over 1 million times in the unredacted Epstein files.

He's a conman, a pedophile, and a convicted felon. You expected better of him?

Seeing is believing.
So far he is just barking which he knows how to do well and like most dogs that get hit by a stick, (Iran's missiles of 12 day war), and learn it hurts, only the stick needs to rise (missiles) for them to scurry away.
He has't figured out a way to get rid of Iran's stick(s) yet.
Additionally, a lot of countries around Iran and Europe, as well as Israel may get severely damaged and he'd be considered the culprit responsible for the damages and lives lost, therefore, just bark, bark, bark, bark....

In Iran, the regime is so loathed that I wouldn't be surprised if people will be still happier with the same outcome as Venezuela, if the regime is gone and replaced even with Pahlavi signing the country's resources away. The worst outcome is if Trump finds a way to get what he wants with the regime still in place. That seems to be what he wants. No freedom for Iranians and a good amount of benefit for US. The regime has already hinted at economic cooperation and access to it's resources in exchange for lifting the sanctions. Trump being a cheap bastard and not wanting to spend money on a war, is very likely to go for it. Naziyahoo is questioning him; Is he still with us? That's why I have no faith in Trump taking any decisive action. He wants a cheap victory just in time for the mid-terms. Kicking the Iran can down the road and hoping it lasts a while is what he is looking for, not war.

i agree with you. Just for clarification, i think the Venelueza case is all about the Americas and the Monroe doctrine vs China.
In the case of Iran, Trump is just doing Israel's bidding, you just have to listen to what the Trump crew says and match with what was the official narrative from Telavive.

Not that it matters much for the end results, but that's what i see. In either case the freedom of the people is not even a secondary concern, case and point what they did to Ukraine.

iran is the key to peace in middle east.

it's funding terrorist orgs from hamas and hezbollah to attack israel, as well as houthis in yemen which is currently at war with saudi (a supposedly key ally in that region until mbs was isolated by the liberal world order). it also supplies arms to russia used in ukraine. a nuclear-armed iran would be catastrophe. the islamic republic is the real destabilizing force that must be got rid of sooner rather than latter.

however going to war rn is not favorable. but america can still exert military pressure, while students in iran continue their demonstration. hopefully this will get the country to the tipping, boiling point and drive out the mullahs, like the shah did 50 ys ago.

what is most important though, is ensuring that the power vacuum is not filled by worse elements.

if this succeeds, imho, there's no reason denying trump the noble prize, yes?
