The US Constitution was written explicitly to avoid unpleasantness happening to judges like losing their heads as has happened in English history.

So I'm not sure what Trump is alluding to.

- judges have life tenure
-they can only be removed only by impeachment
- I've mentioned the separation of powers doctrine elsewhere - prevents the executive from punishing judges for decisions.

No, you don’t. At least not in this sense. The ruling SCOTUS did today is the exact reason why the US is the great democracy that it is. Without a CLEAR independence and differentiation between the branches of a government, a democracy cannot last.
