The Golden Dome is not going to work against ICBMs (what Russia, China et al would be shooting at N. America). Even Israel's "dome" did not work against all of Iran's medium range missiles (in their most recent "war"), as 10-15% of Iran's missiles penetrated Israel's defenses. If even one of them had been armed with a small nuclear warhead, we'd be in a different world today.

It would be too difficult to meaningfully defend. The best option is to become a better attacker, not try to be a better defender. Attacker can always find ways to get in and attack. But if they become a better attacker, then they can level the attacking country as a whole into a construction zone, after their first attack onto the USA. And surely Russia wouldn’t want to get leveled into a construction zone since their leaders, their assets, their families, are still on land.

Has nobody heard of NORAD? The Santa Tracker - built for early warning and detection of inbound ICBMs Doesnt shoot em down but the detection part is sound. Reagan tried to implement this in the 80s I think he called it Star Wars or some such. Laser and missile defense not feasable. No maybe if you arm a bunch of satelites with AI Bots and give them the keys to the war chest they might be able to stop a swarm of ICBM but more likely they'd launch em.

This whole thing is a bad idea.
