The only thing you need to know about Donny is his Achilles heel - MONEY . He was born and bred with the mindset of making money ; by whatever means . He’ll be deceitful , he’ll lie , he’ll be aggressive , he has no boundaries or morals when his ego is in play “ all eyes on me “- ( right , centre and left of stage ) . Well. This afternoon Trump demanted ownership of Greenland, less was out of question. I bet he then got the message from european leaders on direct meetings - and he finally understood it - he will NEVER get Greenland, no matter the consequenses for Europe. And Europe showed him the Bazooka, which will destroy the US economy totally.

So now Trump brag that he got a fine deal - but not the ownership and he stops the tarifs.

Guys - Trump has been defeated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This. 100% this. Exiting longs from yesterday and taking some profits on the metal pullback. It only takes 1 tweet to undo this move. Just look at 10:35AM and the Danish "never giving up Greenland" comment.

That said, FORTUNATELY, the EU is much less likely (I imagine) to spew nonsensical information on a whim and affect markets as significantly as some we know. /nq just pulled back 80 pts FWIW, but hopefully continues to extend. /VX is falling though, so that helps alleviate some concerns (for now)

We all "bet" on the direction we think it will run and have to live with the results. Trading for a living is NOT an easy profession. I would almost recommend folks invest their capital, never touch it, and just get a steady paycheck if at all possible. You may THINK you'll be happier trading, but the first time you give up a year (or decades) worth of salary in a single day, I guarantee you will be second guessing your life choices.

....to that end, STAY SMALL (and risk defined) within your trading budget. Losing 5-10% of your net worth daily takes a toll. So gear for 0.5%-1.0% and you will feel a lot better (and sleep better...or at all)

I enjoyed roller coasters as a kid....now? Not as much. I must say though, I will be very pleased if this ride (unidirectional up in equities and down in metals) continues for a while.

Well done sir. I mean that honestly. It is very hard to buck the trend like that. Often times it is the bear who is rewarded for betting against the masses. Here a bull took home the win. I join you in your positioning, but I have to say, as a futures trader, the middle of the night draw down and that post-speech pull back were scary situations.

I still say this thing isn't over yet though. Moves up that fast are built on nothing but air. A quick tweet leads to devostating results for longs.

Finallly, a sigh of relief.... I was skeptical about military confrontation between the US and NATO, but who knows, crazy times we live in.
I think the best approach for the US is to ues soft power, If they wanted Greenland long before, they had to prepare grunds. Like 10 years ago or so.

But doing things like suddenly,it is just crazy. It creates more resistance in fact. Ideally, what the US had to do is to pinpoint the issues on Greenland, and then start offering solutions, slowly, gradual moves.
Then, perhaps to rull polls, asking people on the streets like “Your thoughts of Greenland joining the USA?” things like that, probing.
Then, to run a referendum - i think some would vote in favour.
But Trump has damaged his image, so…end of the plan.
