Except suspensions usually only last 24 hours. If Twee was still running the FF shop, I'd ask him to permanently ban Ferna and he would have done that in a heartbeat. Yeah. See my query in post #51, above. Utter confusion by some as to the profound difference between the concept of free speech pursuant to the 1st amendment and the use of censoring on a platform such as FF and elsewhere.

Censoring has been around since time dot.

Although from what others have conveyed, FF used to be much stricter.

By definition there is no such thing as “hate” speech. There is free speech or nothing, there is no in between. As soon as anyone labels speech it’s the literal end of free speech. Funny. This is obviously the hate Trump thread. While I'm not a fan of Trump, where were you guys when Biden made some of the worst decisions in the history of US Presidents that had long ranging implications of destroying his own country? Or when Elon's team (DOGE) exposed all the financial corruption during the Biden years, probably longer but so many had to do with transgender related issues, it had to be team Biden. Or how about when Obama and Clinton both made the same decisions about immigration that Trump has made? Granted, there was no ICE issues but that's because those two presidents had the cooperation of the media and immigration. And don't waste my time with that lame suggestion of "prove it" because it's an open record of where Obama and Clinton were on their immigration policies.

What this thread really feels like is part of an orchestrated campaign. Don't be an unreasoning puppet, a parrot or a manipulator in life because you will have to look back and reflect on what you stood for.

Probably everyone has their own opinion, but I consider hate speech to be speech which is both discriminatory and intends to convey substantive public harm.

This is narrow enough to not conflict with any human rights that I know of.

That'll probably change by this time tomorrow. It's just that there is currently some discussion on this in Australia.

You really should learn to communicate without throwing around insults. I just asked you a simple question: define "hate speech"? Ferna's comment can be described as insulting but it is NOT hate speech - he did not call for violence nor incite violence against any group of persons (or nation). Of course Ferna’s comment was unacceptable because it violated the rules. Only reason I noticed it at all was because so many commented on it. That’s because I don’t read his posts, honestly I’m not sure what’s he’s saying most of the time so I don’t pay attention.

However, my discussion was about subsequent posts claiming that the all powerful and all knowing gods who post here can define what is free speech and what isn’t. Most countries have laws against “hate speech” except America. Now there are rules in the US about when and how speech can be used within reason. But the US government doesn’t show up at your door because you posted that you shot a gun at a gun range once like the UK. Is that “hate speech”? Posting a personal picture of you doing something innocuous and completely legal?

Go ahead and explain why the UK can arrest you for posting a picture of an everyday legal activity. Also most of your posts contain nothing but hate. Why aren’t you banned for obvious “hate speech”?

I live in a country where the clear majority completely rejects the idea of labels on speech like you do.
