Hi Guys

I had an EA made last year...the thread link is above. It looks like a very profitable EA on the tester (see last few posts in thread).

I have posted the two main indis and the EA because I cant seem to get it to take trades on Gold or sp500 or nas100,

It is for daily charts only.

Was wondering if anyone could figure out why...I suspect it has to do with EOD issue and spread widening.

I would say 99.99@ of EAs, especially commercial or free EAs are not robust to various market conditions. But if applied to the right market condition, it should work good enough for what it is. Anything done at the right time and place should work.

The only Expert Advisor (EA) that consistently generated profits for me over a period of months was Bonnita Gold on the M1 timeframe. It had an optional stop-loss order; at the time, I used it without one, but it had trailing stops. It generated a good profit for me, and for its owner as well, but its signal was turned off because the owner wiped out a $200,000 account. I didn't wipe out my account, but I had to make some deposits to cover some deficits. I operated without a stop-loss order; it was a great EA, very accurate.

For 3 years I was a tireless bot tester, and I'm willing to go back to testing them soon, collecting some for my list; I test them all on a real account.

How was he providing his EA as a product? I’ve been considering making my EA available like that but don’t really know how.

it looks kinda interesting!
but we all know what happens when there is a big move against all of your positions.

I did averaging myself for some time anyways very profitable with it on gold. Last April I flipped my initial balance for 3 times and lost all in 50 min.!

since then I sometimes do it again, but in a very very conservative way andtake either a small loss instead of chasing it.

BTW, my commercial bots made me 18% this week. So can’t complain.

Hey Phil,
I just bought Vortex Gold and Vortex Turbo.
I had a 8 weeks trial on Vortex Gold and it did very solid. Vortex Turbo just had two trades since Thursday and is profitable so far.

My current live acc EA set is:
- Golden Synapse
- Golden Zephyr
- Gold Buster (hasn‘t traded yet)
- ABS Gold Grid (currently paused and running only core1)
- Vortex Turbo
- Vortex Gold (Strat 2 + 3 is getting installed today)

Golden Synapse and Zephyr made mer roughly 11% by itself on my acc trading the most on Monday and Tuesday.

He has a store within MQL5 (Community), where you can measure the performance of the EA, etc. There you can sell, etc., or sell via monthly subscription for N series that expire.

It’s a sensible systematic approach for D1, are you still working on it or moved onto new projects?

I would be trading it live right now but I need those three instruments running as they are the high gainers of the group.

Do you think that if I raise the slippage amount it will take trades at the start of a new days candle?

Are you using limit or stop orders? If you're using limit then I wouldn't worry about slippage, or even spread. I would use a "Standard" type account that doesn't have commission since the order will get filled at the same pending order price or better, regardless of if you're paying commission or not.

I've been working on a something new which I'm thinking about sharing in a thread but it would only work with currencies and not Gold or Bitcoin. The reason being is, it does some pair canceling so it benefits from the diversity of Forex. But here are the results from the test I just started on it, from 2 hours ago. I'll try to share this approach soon.

I am not using either.

The trade is opened at market when the daily candle closes...this is why I thought the slippage might be the reason because the new daily open brings a widening of spread.

Looking forward to the new approach...
