Everything (almost) made in China is cheap shit and those "countermeasures" have been going on for decades with knockoffs and garbage. Its hard to find a can opener that has a life expectancy more than a year or two. No sympathy. Zero.

The US will go broke in the future trying to compete with China. Just like the Soviet Union went broke trying to compete with the US. One billion people are more productive than the 300 million. Given that they have the same industrial infrastructure. Unless Tesla brings a very effective robot that can do most human tasks, the US is doomed. History doesn't repeat, but it rhymes.

If America wasn't outright the world's biggest thug. I'd be morecthan willing to agree with a world separation where we don't even think of buying from Asia. But fact is right now America is worse than China. You can thank Trump for that for all the fragmentation you see in the west
