You got it all wrong. Japan is the largest investor yes, but they don't invest in Japan they invest overseas where the economic growth is much higher. Your statement is full of contradictions.

People borrow money from Japan bc the interest rates are low, then they take this money and invest in faster growing economies where the returns are expected to be higher than the interest they pay. That's called "carry trade".

Investing in Japan however is a no brainer since the growth rate is low, no unemployment (you cant find employees to work for you), bureaucracy and regulations are as tough as it is in the West etc.

Idk if you are a Russian troll, you seem very upset about the frozen assets of an aggressor.

I personally don't see them doing anything this weekend. They like to execute it in a stealth manner but they will tell you 100x times prior so you can't say we didn't warn you.

Is USDJPY the only pair to note, CHFJPY is at all time high, same with EURJPY.

By the time USDJPY reach 160, probably CHFJPY could have climbed to 200+

Well, 'tis the season (with low liquidity) to take some action, but even those words, which caused a little pop, weren't enough to stem the slide for more than a few minutes.

I have no clue if the BOJ intervenes on weekends (obviously they will be closed), but what fun it would be for a Friday afternoon (US equities time) to see an intervention?? Plus, the BOJ buys in at lower levels now than 24 hours ago.

That said, I am not holding my breath....just some /6J longs for the next couple of weeks (just jn case).

To be honest any pair at this moment vs JPY is to the moon. I particularly look at UJ as my bellwether since once i see it hitting those key resistance levels usually from my experience historically there's a turn not too far away. I could be wrong this time it's just my hunch at the moment.

TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AGAINST EXCESSIVE FX MOVES.

This means exactly what it says. It says nothing about levels or seeking to halt or reverse any trend. Alarmed over "excessive" moves.

BoJ employing monetary policy to hit a price target or meeting a price goal - price being the 10-year Jap Govt bond price.

I'm just reading what she said. I'm not sure what others here are reading. This is Japan, not the USA.

Was waiting for this...

Intervention will come and there's no doubt about it. We might see those 100 pips in a second moves like in the past as well before the intervention.

If rally continues into Monday, then we might see intervention even this year or at latest in January.

USD/JPY will probably reach 160 however. I am also looking for quite some time now for that 214 on GBP/JPY. Seems like ideal spot for something... USD/JPY would be around 160 by the time GBP/JPY reaches 214. We'll see...

imagine their talk of yen intervention the past few months has been all talk only but no action. Traders do not trust them anymore. They should have intervened last friday to help prop up the yen but until now nothing. What are they waiting for? Real FOOLS!!!

what happened to the yen intervention drama? They had a good opportunity to intervene during low liquidity during Xmas holidays but they did not. Yesterday too they could have but they did not make use of it. Looks like they want continuous yen weakness or what? BOJ members should all be replaced with more vibrant ones as they are behind the curve of inflation & yen weakness. Even business owners are already complaining and requesting the govt to do something to stop this yen weakness. Looks like Takaichi is Asian Liz Truss.
