I suppose if considering beliefs relating to deep existential questions about life's purpose and human limitations, the transient nature of human existence and the frustration of human survival, then a belief in low interest rates might be considered by some to be a rather ephemeral and disappointing creed.

Yea buddy, those mortgage rates ain’t coming down cuz a neutered fed lowers the OVERNIGHT RATE. The rate that banks charge each other, literally overnight. If the market has no confidence in inflation, growth, and debt then the impact of these magical rate cuts on MORTGAGE RATES will be the exact opposite.
