just took the 15m and 1h trades , didnt like the 30m , closed slightly early although wick did get filled

calling it a day , couple of losses but another great day , 5.84% profit

price action a bit rangy at the moment, ill be taken trades but maybe mostly after news, i wont bother post as and when i take them, ill just post the results at the end of day , maybe final day of posting, as posting is just a distraction, and im not getting anything out of it, what i will need to do is start coming up with rules all by myself

calling it a day , 3 trades , 3 wins 2.84% profit

so in 6 days of trading this ''system'' has made 30.23% profit ,

insane i know, only thing i can say is , its a demo account there for no slippage , things might be different with slippage , but 30% worth of slippage? i doubt it

ive attached the 6 day results, have not had as much interaction as i would have liked, so probs no more posts, i need to ry this with live account i think and come up with some loose rules

I have a question. Let's say we have a bullish candle with a wick. On the next candle, the price initially goes up, but does not fill most of the wick. Later, the price drops and a bearish candle forms, then the price rises again. Would you trade in this situation? Or would you only trade if the price drops first?

good question, and i dont have a definite answer, what i have been doing: sometimes the candle makes a tiny top wick in the first 1 minute , but hardly fills any wick, then moves down , then i have still been taking the trade

but lets say it a 1h candle and its like 5 mins into it , then no ive been leaving it

so yea rules that are not in place, ive just been going of instinct , lots of work to be done lots of data needed , im not likeing the fact im not getting slippage on the demo account , so may need to start using micro lots on a live to really give it a test drive

Hey on your 5 minute chart, it looks like you did about 5 trades in a day.... so what filters do you use?
It seems like a 5 min chart should have dozens of trades in a day.
I like your idea, just need to sort it out

In the case of small wicks, this is not really a problem, but I am referring to larger wicks. I definitely think that if 75% of the wick is covered, there is no point in doing it, but what about 50% coverage of the wick and less? Wouldn't it be better to check the percentage of wick coverage instead of the time that has elapsed? Or a combination of the two? It would be worth paying attention to this.

lol yea, thats my other startegy , my profitable one that i know works , break and retest , ignore them , nothing to do with this , i should have used a clean chart to be fair

also 15 min is the minimum i use for this, so i do the 15, 30 and 1h , and i treat them all separately,

so potential , 4 15 min trades per hour 2 30 min trades per hour and of course 1 one hour trade per hour

so if everything lines up on the hour close , i could have potential 3 trades at once , 15, 30 and 1h

sounds good, id say if 25% of wick is already covered id just leave it, maybe even 15% , the best trades are when it goes staright down , and then comes up to fill the wick , or vise versa . good thing about this is that there is potentially for up to 7 trades per hour, unlike other strats i dont need to worry about the next opportunity, it could be just 15 mins away, its kinda nice for my phycology, i feel relaxed doing this strat , but it needs work

i see a lot of wicks getting filled, i see some losses for sure , but 1-1 rr only need 51% strike rate ,

all i have set in stone for now is entry tp sl and rr ,

and the best trades i find are the ones that make the bottom wick first or vise versa and then fill the wick

id suggest just go at it with a demo account, just take everything at first , see what ya think

i like to gfet a buy stop ready with tp and sl so i can just move it into place

beacuse we need to be fast sometimes , once moved in place i can adjust tp and sl to 1rr or so
