The move marks a major shift for Ukraine, which has fought to join NATO as a safeguard against Russian attacks and has such an aspiration included in its constitution. It also meets one of Russia’s war aims, although Kyiv has so far held firm against ceding territory to Moscow. Guarantees from US and Europe. Are they worth anything. History has shown that they will dump you first. It was US and EU which assured Zelenski/Ukraine about being a part of EU and NATO. Supporting to fight with unlimited support, Coalition of the willing etc. I hope people of Ukraine understand that you cannot change its neighbors and need find a way to live peacefully without being mislead by EU/USA who have no pain in this war.

He shouldn't have messed with the russian minority in the first place. He got ucraine into a war and an ugly mess, achieving nothing for the country. Though filling his and his buddies' pockets might have been the plan from the very beginning. Too bad for the people of the country, though. Lots of orphans, broken families, and an entirely broken country.
