The record-setting government shutdown appears on course to conclude in a matter of days, with a vote by the House of Representatives looking like the last big step that's needed. That's after the Senate late Monday voted 60-40 in favor of a compromise package in the wake of eight Democratic senators siding with Republicans late Sunday to advance the measure. President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday afternoon that he supported the deal, describing it as "very good," so he's expected to sign the legislation into law once the House acts.
