It happens bro Greed gets us all sometimes. Good thing is to learned the lesson early.
Its better not to regret once you close a trade whether in profit or loss dont overthink it. Dont say if i waited more i could have earned more or if i changed my SL maybe i would not have lost.
Just think at least there was no big loss thats what matters.

Greed is really dangerous.
The thing is: there’s no on/off switch for it. We’re humans. When money is involved we all get the same emotion. But you always have to take what the market is giving you right now.
You have your plan before you enter. Same with SL. I place my SL in a good spot, calculated with risk management on my account. But when I have an idea for a setup, I also have a manual exit price in my head. That’s the price where I say: “ok, this setup is dead, I’m not gonna let price hit my broker SL, I’ll just close it.” Because if price reaches that point, my idea is broken.
Most of the time I just let the SL do its job especially if it’s a breakout setup. But there are moments where I let price hit the SL and moments where I close earlier. That depends on how price is reacting, how buyers are reacting, how sellers are reacting. The moment I see the other side taking control, I close manually.
Another example where greed is dangerous:
Two weeks ago I had €6,000 open profit on both accounts so €3,000 per account. Then greed came up. I wanted more. At that moment you have to talk to yourself while you’re trading. You have to recognize your own emotion and admit it. When I felt that greed coming up and I recognized it, I closed everything. But then it wasn’t €3,000 per account anymore, it was €1,500 per account.
That’s what trading is: how fast do you recognize your own emotions, and how fast do you act on them.
If you feel greed → close.
If you’re stressing inside a trade → your lot size is too big or your risk is too high.
If you look at your SL and you start thinking “oof that’s a lot if it hits” → also too big.
With breakouts you can use a little bit bigger lot with a tighter SL because you’re looking for momentum. If it’s a fakeout, you don’t lose a lot. But if you want to catch HL/LH structure moves, then SL must be wider but then you must make sure you’re not stressed when you look at the potential loss. That’s the key.
Trading is emotions/psychology first. If you learn to spot your own emotions fast and you react fast, that will save you a lot of money long term.

Don’t lock your mind on one price.
And honestly don’t even use a fixed take profit.
If you’re already up nicely and you’re still at the screen or you go to sleep → just move your SL into profit and let it run. That’s cleaner than forcing a TP number.
Otherwise: let the market pay what it wants to pay.
Because the moment you say “I WANT 4,010” or “I WANT 4,100”, your brain and your ego will try to force the trade to reach that number no matter what. That’s where mistakes happen. You start ignoring what price is actually showing, just because your mind is married to a number.
When I enter a trade, I set my SL.
But I don’t fixate on a target.
Why? Because it makes it easier to close when the market already gave me good money. I can just say “ok, that was the move for now” and I’m out.
If you obsess over 1 price → you will overhold, you will give back profit, and you will start managing from ego, not from structure.
There are enough setups every week.
You don’t have to milk every trade to the max.
