First place to look is on the daily chart.

A couple of good daily levels are
3977.51
3864.32
3765.06

Which ever of these we hit, then we look for buying to occur.

As it did not turn in London, now we wait for the US session.

Every one and his dog are waiting for 4000 ;-) in my experience the longer it messes about the 4000, the less change 4000 supports it. What ideally you want is a market makers quick spike to 4k.
