It is your own mistake, your own doing, you are being torture by your ownself which you have to find a way to make it never happen again... this is a simple psychology thing, you just cant accept yourself => you dont want to change it => you cant change it => more pain in same situtation or get more same situation... it is real life psychology mate. And now you will regret what you have done but dont know what was happen => FOMO buy => price drop straight down => pain => .... oh accept it, it is a circle of doom which most of people in trading can experience especially who dont have mentor or correct guidance

- Generally accepted rule in risk management is that you should not risk more than 1-5% of your capital

Well guys, i need to sleep, but if price in 1h TF close above 4040.110 i if see it will take a buy, tp for now is in my eyes 4077 but will depend if a new pivot is created before the break, if not is that target and forward.
Don't know the stop yet because of pivot if the existing or a new one, and a new one also can decrease the target.
But surely closing above is a good buy opportunity.

How i am looking at it is it can go high to 4080 after crossing resistance above 4038. It may fall back to 3980. Probability of it going higher is > that probability of fall.
Before ultimate fall both likely to happen.

you know what, when i learn trading, the first thing they told me not about method, but about 2% 5% capital rule, never risk more than that in a single trade, this because of psychology and how much you need to recovery after failure
It can easy to be seen that after 10% loss per trade the rate increase radpidly... and more than that you can lose pretty much 3-5 conclusive trade in a row therefore for safety most of teaching show 2-5% loss per trade for safety not just for balance but also you mind lol

been there, done that.
I'm pretty new to trading (only a few months in) and still learning the ropes. I've been burned a few times already, and after last week's fiasco I decided to take a break and just watch I did miss a few opportunities, but I also haven't lost anything. I've won knowledge instead, learned from my mistakes and will continue to learn and analyze .

It really is tied to psychology, and I think you can train yourself to handle it better over time.

0.2 lot from 1600usd, why not good entry will give generous profit

no pain no gain

as long as the trader can afford the losses

5% max of capital is common theory, distributed in all the trading education material... by the end of the day still 95% trader loss their capital

not applicable to newbie trader anyway

For example: I got 1k$ and go trade, i take 5% risk per trade = 50$, with a system of 60% rate => for confident of 0.95 of winning that mean i have to lose at least 3-4 trade to get 1 win => my highest drawdown should be 5%*4 = 20% most of the time => which already crazy to recovery anyway (26% surplus trade to recovery)... For 2% with same system => i got drawdown only 8% most of the time, which can easy recovery with +8.4% trade and R/r of that trade, which also is 1:4 R/r not 1:5 as 5% risk... even you can get a better winrate this still affect you. Winrate of a system + R/r of that system + capital risk per trade is a pure money management and affect in a long term and very basic simple which every one can learn and apply early.
