But as for the soaring housing market, we remember vividly Chairman Greenspan who, in effort to stay on the good side of four presidents who appointed and reappointed him kept the interest rates low thus causing the real estate boom. This is how Greenspan singlehandedly engineered the Great Recession of 2008. (With the mighty help from Wall Street that got into the act with unthoughtful Collateral Mortgage Obligations and Mortgage backed Securities and as a result Clinton's Community Reinvestment Act of the late 1990's that graded lenders according to how may mortgage loans they made to poorly qualified borrowers.)

Trump is not right and neither is the Fed. The rates should be north of 10% at least. Stocks at the all time high. Crypto at the all time high. Gold and silver at the all time high. Yields artificially suppressed by central banks (buying the debt themselves). In a free market, the rates would be north of 10% already.

Both Trump and Powell don't know what the fuc' they're doing. Powell is stupid, but people who believe him are even more stupid. How can one say that rates are restrictive if all markets are at the all time fuc'ing high?

This is the worst place we are currently in. Basically, the Fed has done an amazing job of literally doing the worst that they could. Rates were never restrictive and probably will never be as the Fed is too incapable of doing their job. Trump is just fuel to the fire with his dumb calls for lower rates. It's too little too late for the Fed to hike rates now and that is exactly what they should be doing instead of continuing to destroy the USD by lowering rates.

I expect 25bps cut with further rate cuts planned on every upcoming meeting, because the Fed is fuc'ing stupid and doesn't work for the interest of the American people, but rather rich coc'suckers that will get even more wealthier as stocks will continue to surge higher along with gold and everything else.

B-b-b-b-buuuut, higher rates would cause recession? Exactly! The very thing that is necessary to return the purchasing power back to the currency. Everything would become cheaper and bubble would deflate, which is exactly the cure we need and exactly what the Fed isn't fuc'ing doing. We need that fuc'ing recession! Lower rates will only prolong the suffering and cause even more suffering as the currency continues to lose purchasing power. It would by somewhat "controlled" demolition, while the path we are currently on will get us to the point of uncontrollable nightmare scenario.

To finish... both the Fed and Trump could care less about the average American, as they both call for lower rates which works for the rich and not for the average income and poor. Whether the Fed holds or cuts rates is totally fuc'ing irrelevant, as they need to be hiking big time, and as soon as possible.

Powell is a cautious individual, I envisage him and the board sticking to their guns and going with a 0.25% precautionary cut with caveats in the press conference .

Inflation is likely to run hot for the foreseeable so I think they’ll factor this into the dot plot and it might dismiss some of the market expectations . Third quarter opex expiration Friday and October to bring some much needed volatility .

Unlike Taco - for the FED, their number one fear is losing the hard-won progress against inflation. Therefore, a 50 bps cut is extremely unlikely unless they see a severe economic threat that outweighs the inflation risk.

Powerful insight (diluted by Taco's rage bait): Sometimes, the Fed needs to be inflationary to hit its target. If inflation is running too low, they cut rates to push it up to 2%. The goal is not 0% inflation, it is 2%. The question is whether their action would push inflation above their target?
