China slams Trump's call for new tariffs
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Monday that it "firmly opposes" United States President Donald Trump's suggestion that NATO members should impose a 50% to 100% tariff on China. The measure would be imposed to discourage China from buying Russian oil, with Trump adding that it would be withdrawn after the war in Ukraine ends. The ministry said the proposal is a "classic example of unilateral bullying and economic coercion" and warned that it could have a "severe impact on global trade and the stability of production and supply chains."
