Low chances of rate cuts as only 2 fed members want the rates to be cut. Likely in September. News this evening should drive the market to a favourable position for the sell entry. lets see. I'm selling heavy if the rates are not cut today easily 3100.

Until FOMC, scalping is the way to go today

Upon FOMC:
- Initial reaction would be selling (general consensus is that the fed will keep rate unchanged)

Upon press conference:
- If hawkish, sell
- If dovish, buy

This is what I have in mind and I might be wrong. Would love to hear what others think.

i think wait and see when NY overlap begins, price bright break out of the range and price in the expectation of the rate remaining the same and we might see a move to the downside but who knows, maybe it will just keep ranging up and down too until later on FOMC

If there is a rate cut all hell will break lose. The market has priced 97% chance of no cut..... There wont be a cut, but if there is overly dovish statement and press conference then dollar could still move down and gold up. If the statement is the same as last one then very little movement, probably a continuation down for gold. If the GDP and unemployment figures surprise then that could move things. If powell looks like he is wavering or losing control it will be interesting. The number itself is a foregone conclusion

i can’t see 3100 just yet however a drop to maybe 3250 possible. All will depend on the commentary during the conference

Agreed, rate cut seems unlikely today. If they hold rates, a sharp move down makes sense, Let’s wait for the news confirmation.
