US Durable Goods Orders Declined 9.3% in June

This is better than market expectations for durables, how would this do anything?

Durable Goods Orders declined 9.3% in June after 16.5% increase in May, while the Core Durable Goods increased 0.2% or 2.4% annualized. Core Durable Goods exclude the volatile transportation items such as airliners.

Washington, DC, July 25, 2025- New orders for manufactured durable goods in June, down two of the last three months, decreased $32.1 billion or 9.3% to $311.8 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced. This followed a 16.5% May increase.

Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.2%. Excluding defense, new orders decreased 9.4%. Transportation equipment, also down two of the last three months, drove the decrease, $32.6 billion or 22.4% to $113.0 billion.

Shipments of manufactured durable goods in June, up seven consecutive months, increased $1.4 billion or 0.5% to $302.5 billion. This followed a 0.2% May increase. Transportation equipment, up six of the last seven months, led the increase, $0.8 billion or 0.8% to $98.9 billion.

Unfilled orders for manufactured durable goods in June, up eleven of the last twelve months, increased $14.4 billion or 1.0% to $1,470.0 billion. This followed a 3.4% May increase. Transportation equipment, up four consecutive months, led the increase, $14.1 billion or 1.6% to $911.9 billion.

Inventories of manufactured durable goods in June, up nine consecutive months, increased $0.9 billion or 0.2% to $588.6 billion. This followed a 0.2% May increase. Machinery, up four consecutive months, led the increase, $0.4 billion or 0.4% to $102.2 billion.

Memo to all:

It would be a good idea to relax, smell the roses, fire the therapists and enjoy the good fortune of being born and living in the country with the highests standard of living on Earth for the common man and the strongest economy on Earth.

Instead, various people with low instestinal fortitude are constantly warning of the imminent "recession," "high" inflation (when it is 2.4% for the past 12 month and has been 3.28% for the past 50 years on the average) and sky high prices (while most products and especially groceries are cheaper than 50 years ago in 1975 adjusted for inflation) and the household income has been rising slightly above the rate of inflation for decades thereby slowly increasing the standard of living.

Good call, except the exact opposite, dollar up stocks at all time highs.

Who actually thinks TChump government is actually putting out real numbers when they fired everyone who collected them.
