Answered my own question. Went to the CME and checked their stats and opened a PLV5 chart and there is sufficient volume to make trades.

Another day, another ... chart


The market can best set the trade up for us imo
They lay out a map of price
And at various "points of attraction" , then traders might say yes please and enter anew or,
that'll do and exit (for TP or SL)

Which can well be followed just like a GPS depending on session, session opens or anytime of trading
(tho best not maybe during monkey business time when they recalibrate the aggregations setting up for the NEXT stanza)

I was out & about this morning after the market moved via trump lol an hour after the day open (crazy time to trade imo).

Did the shopping came back in and looked at all the happenings.

Big opening gap 60 pips higher is still there from last Monday morning.

GJ sold off yesterday after London open (too many buyers looking to close the gap, who knows)
GJ recalibrated late in NY yesterday and finished back at the RN (lol, amazing) 198.500 to end the day.

The Trump-Japan Trade deal today saw the market flip-flop till a lunchtime spike shot it up again
(always clearest to see on the 15m chart imo, regardless of what TF you trade on)

Then a late run up to the BRN (lol, amazing) 199.000 just then before Franky.

Where to now.
I just wait & watch till they show their hand (again)

(took a quick trade below, as a scout tester just before Franky-London began)

The market’s been acting pretty erratic lately, especially during news events like the recent Trump situation. Trading during those times feels like playing with fire — react fast or get burned. But in the end, discipline is what really makes the difference.

Very nice USDJPY trade, with the momentum, after London open.

I won't post this chart on Vid's thread as a respect & courtesy for him and the great work he is doing over there with his excellent imo PriceBob Strategy thread.
Plus I never know whether I am helping or hindering you with my charts but this might give a clue as to how I see (the attractors) as the markets were playing out.

My day is well over, I won't post my trades as just relaxing now, so back again tomorrow to see what happened in the New York plays for the pair that I follow.

The difference in putting my trades into the market
and walking away
entries stops targets, have made a remarkable difference to my results
Total transparency to my plan/playbook
No manual trading for me now

Yes similar style for sure, and mainly I believe as the markets AND CANDLES we can see on the same timeframes are (must) be the same (broker willing, of course )

I go back to what I can see in the morning when I open my chart.
I then review 'where' are some likely confluences of trader attractor targets ahead (and how far they are away from price 'now')
And then i just watch to see how the market approaches them,
how the market behaves on reaching them
and what the larger market does with price 'after' them

That is my joy & pleasure hahaa trading in the markets and what I look forward to each day - seeing the market mechanic repetitions.
Else it might become boring or a chore. But not so thankfully as it keeps my old brain active and alert

Cheers for the chart I enjoy looking at what "other traders see" when they look at their charts hahaa.

Mate, with the GJ I would recommend to traders that NOT trading on those first 6 x 5min candles of the day you showed above is best,
as there is usually no liquidity at the time and the broker (well, mine) will kick up the spread markedly at the time to chip it if you know what I mean.

I think the USDJPY spread/s wouldn't go so wide (I don't know tho, as I do not have that chart pair open) so maybe stick with the UJ if you must trade so early in the new day. I generally wait now for the first Yen news of the day which is usually 2:50 chart time each day (but not today its 3:50 chart time hahaa).

Then, for me, after the price plays do their up & down which set the early asia hi's & lows, to an extent, I know (to an extent again) where folks, both buyers &/or sellers, are trapped and then the price moves subsequently between the attractors are fairly simple trading for me.

Took a while to see it all but that was the learning curve (for me).

Yes, we all go through that period where we have to "know why" the market is going to do what it may or may not do. We traders must be like those in the charge of the light brigade ... "Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do and die"

Hi W,

Mate it looks right on the money to me.

The setups are dictated in a way by the PA "to and around" the targets and the exits are either the first target reached, while depending on pips gained you could wait & see how price reacts there before moving on or you getting out. There is no set process I can document just that over time you get the feel of how they move price around in the 3 session stages (eg asia with a hi & low, then franky-london, and later off to the NY open).

I don’t have a set math process in my trading, I’m a discretionary trader.
To give an example though, I would use the market behaviour around the next attractor if price moved against my trade direction and check how the market responds there. There is usually not a set pip distance between attractors but should I be strictly trading off the round number grid in a single trade, with no other attractors in sight, then I would be cautious of any DD and ready to close if price ran (hard) for the following RN.

I prefer though to trade around a few confluences of attractors as my advantage so it becomes apparent to me quite early if I am on the wrong side of the market aggregation and I act accordingly.


Now, some red news has just passed for the GBP.
At the top of the hour coming up I would be looking for the market to show its intentions for the following 2 hrs, prior to the NY runup
(when I usually close shop for the day & do something else before bed ).

These targets/attractors you marked are quite subjective.
How do you know the wider traders are interested to these exact same levels?

Hi Merka,

Your question is reasonable & courteous, thank you (ie how do I know)


Let’s put aside Round Numbers for a moment which are not really subjective as they are set in stone on all charts and do not change daily as they are merely Price.
(I always thank Kev/Bluesteele for bringing the round numbers to my attention again, maybe 4 years ago)


Then the (old style Floor) Day Pivots are formed purely mathematically and are SET each new day from a formula using past prices (the formula can easily be found on an internet search).

I will say I am not a pivot trader but my understanding is that many are (maybe even millions haha) and use them which includes (apparently?)
institutions etc which would form part of the backbone of the larger market that I often mention.

I just watch how the market behaves to & around Pivots and over time I saw clearly the market does respond in some way at those pricelines.

What I also found with pivots is that when a pivot says its a support OR resistance line that the narrative doesn’t always hold.

ie price can break through these supposed S&R lines which I just assume is the larger market aggregating against the millions (just j/k) of traders that expected price to hold & reverse at those lines.
Which is why on my charts you will notice I put the S or R in brackets eg day (S)1 etc as I dont trust the narrative of S&R so I jusr WAIT to see what happens there.


The previous Hi’s and Lo’s whether they be Day, Week or Month are also SET by previous price and are another of the unchanging price lines also.


The better way to view the “attractors” in action are when there are a few in close proximity to each other which I call a CONFLUECNE of attractors meaning a few different styles of traders might be each AND independently of each other could takre an interest at that price area with a more pronounced subsequent price reaction (aggregation dependent of course)


Now why, I guess, would I call them attractors.

Well that comes about from the past 3-4 years of my hands-on & day to day Purely Manual Trading & babysitting which allows me to watch the movement of price.

This also included hours & hours of Observation on a Trade Simulator which allowed me to call up any day from the past and run the price candles quickly through that day while putting (and switching, back then) my templates to see which made any sense to me as why price behaved the way it did.

Each to their own how they study our markets or which indicators they use personally to assist in price movement understanding or even trade viability assessments.


I always think the best way to show my target trader attractors is to show a chart.

I also indent my charts on the right hand side so that all can see in ADVANCE (on the right hand side of the new day)
where the new daily attractors are sitting (and waiting) for the day to unfold.


George_AUD set me watching & using his version of targets about six years ago showing its validity to me of how the market uses & sets up these targets
(which were pure Swing Targets, yet another style of trading those attractors of hi lo that maybe many millions of traders use to this day)

And finally I thank Andy/Moodybot for pulling me aside one day saying 'look at this' and showing to me that ALL fx pairs behave to a similar/same process daily.

And of course I thank Wyckoff & Shab's for reintroducing me to his market mechanics established, what, 90+ years ago now - nothing has changed imho
(the Composite Man principle)
