Yeah, thats what i'm saying... It's an after the fact thing. If someone draws a position on a chart with a profit at 500 pips and a stop loss at 100 pips, then states it is a 5:1 risk/reward, then they are talking bollocks. The market might hit the stop loss 10 times before it hits one of their profit levels once, making it a 1:2 negative strategy. Taking good positions is the key, and get out the second it goes outside you point of view. The losses will then always be small and the wins will come eventually.
Just for the record, my last 3 years I have an average win of $150 per trade and a loss of $182, but I have a 70% win rate, so am way in profit.

Sometimes I feel that traders in here say tbings just for the sake of saying them or worse, to misguide others.

Since when does risk to reward not matter in a normal trading methodology?

Not unless my resources are full of absolute shit

Is the aim not to move from losses to profits?

Looking at the wicks being created by the rejections in M30..I am not sure about downward momentum. I'm even thinking of closing my positions
