I agree partially about the PA, although it only takes a couple of good news for the dollar for gold to start falling and depending on the momentum once people start closing their longs it just falls faster and previous PA becomes irrelevant exactly same as the move up following geopolitical events. The reason a lot of people hope to short here imo is not because PA suggests a down move but because they expect big investors that actually buy gold ( not cfd ) to take profit, so it is a more a game of predicting their greed vs their fear to not sell in time.

0.01 is good news for the fed, points to inflation nearing their target of 2% gives more reasons for them to consider more rate cuts in the future.

Next CPI should set the tone I guess.

More volume to come with NYSE in 30m But if it doesn't shoot up with these numbers + war in ukraine and middle east it shows you how strong the selling pressure is starting to get. Not hoping for it but if you want a strong move up pray that israel lauches their ground operation into Lebanon. Disaster on a human level but really good for people holding gold sadly

does it not mean inflation is already getting under control no need to cut and let it ride for now ?

True. Sadly but that is how human be. Honest about that is better than support either sides. I think politicians must have the ritual of being spit in the face by people everyday to remind them whom they working for.

nothing goes up in a straight line. Any drop will be more of a correction than a trend change, short lived & bought into quickly. Perhaps lasting 3/4 weeks.

There are players in this market who could drop the price, when they’re ready, fundamentally- golds going to keep going up medium / long term but short term runs on a different set of dynamics & rules.

investors don’t care for short term & there’s no reason to believe that large “investors” would sell after this rise with all the fundamentals pointing to the opposite, I would imagine 99% of them are in for £5000+ over the next 2-5-10 years.

Possibly, but heavy rates are taking a toll on consumer spending, labor market and the housing market since borrowing costs are high. Both presidential candidates are strongly advocating for rate cuts.

Since it’s getting close to the target feds might be inclined to start cutting since the job is done or getting done, how DXY bulls will react though only time will tell.

Yes and No, large investors can take profit even if they expect the price to continue rising, and the explanation is that Gold is a safe long term investment but not the best return there is, get's outperformed by SP500 for example, so investors can take profit out of gold to invest in slightly more risky assets to make more profits if the situation calms down. Gold is the n1 refuge during doubt periods, right now US election plays a big role. If Trump gets elected and applies his tax cuts you could see a lot of capital coming out of gold to go into stocks instead, tech for example.

In any other cases its still upwards but i notice some struggles on the current H4. All depend on this bar to see where we go
