Thing is... it'd make a little sense to me that the Gold goes higher today and then up again on NFP. Buyers need more fuel to push the price towards 3000$ and I don't think 60$ retracement from the high is going to do it. They need a nice 200$ - 400$ "retracement", so they can start loading up their Longs again in my opinion and start building another long-term position.

Could be wrong and we could see 2550$ soon, but I'll take the loss and move on if that happens. I'll dump Shorts before 2550$ arrives, of course.

True... retracements are usually fast like this. I'm not doing anything today with these Shorts... tomorrow is a new day. H4 candle still has 2 and half more hours to close and if the price fails yet again to close above Resistance... well, that's the clue (in my opinion) to get out of Longs and Short to 2470$ or 2450$.

We have US election in like 70 days or so. The powers that be do NOT want a new high in gold just before election so Kamala looses because of that. So there is NOT going to be 3000 before election. Probably we are going to have a big drop before election - that is in progress right now but they are making the standard moves to confuse the small time traders ...
Or maybe a move up - Pedro's move and after that the big drop. In any case, before election the trend will be down...

Regarding Dollar Index and Treasury Yields, which both should support Gold, the shiny metal is not doing what it supposed to do today. Even Silver tries to keep up with stronger Euro and lower Yields...but Gold needs much more juice...if we not get a 4H close with next current above 2493.65 USD, we will revisit first 2480.67 USD and hourly close below will activate 2467.09 USD and later 2456.08 USD where also 233 EMA is hovering around...

2492.900 is a Resistance on M30. Bulls have finally gained an upper hand on the M15 closing the candle above the Resistance at 2489.600, however will they be able to close M30 candle above its Resistance? We'll see...

If they do, H1 Resistance as well as H4 Resistance is exactly at 2500$ from which the price fell just now. Above that opens the door for the new all time high or at least the recent high at 2530$.

This is what I see on my screen ... bulls gained nothing ...

but that can still push the price around with effects of Dxy index rising or reducing boc (or other currency moving up or down), no? Otherwise how can price of gold in Asian or London etc have strong moves with other (non-fed) news
