Same here, too high to buy, except if we go to fresh heights, which again, can be sweeps and be the shittiest bull trap ever (especially when you pay swap on holding longs for more than 3 days). Hoping the NFP will be crushing number, Gold can do with a higher TF correction to 2200 eventually. As long as there is no news on Iran fighting back, with a strong NFP, we could go down nicely.

Can you explain further? I'm newbie and i think if NFP shows weakness, Gold price should be skyrocket and i would buy rather than sell.

in any worldwide event everything has a knee jerk reaction. Ie: it will drop fast before bouncing. It always does because people see it as a safe haven (which it is) but big money will load lower.

pic 1 Iraq war… lead up was 2 months (feb) and then announced mid march. Market moved to the downside heavily. Bounced in April.

pic 2 covid. Similar story.

if you’re investing then it doesn’t matter but I doubt anyone here is investing.

NFP forecast
U.Rate: 4.1%
NFP: 167k-185k(powell want a stable lbr mkt) with earning to cool.
AWE: 3.7%(this is where weakness of dollar might come from)

P/S: one of my friend told me we have cup and holder on gold. Should we bring the biscuit?

What to expect from this NFP today in my POV
the whales will always want to buy at a discount and sell when overbought, every one would be expecting the NFP numbers to be low and drive USD price lower and Gold higher but in 30 minutes to like 2 hours after the NFP news I will not be surprised if prices start reversing down on XAUUSD and higher on DXY and USD pairs
Because the DXY will be bought at a discount and gold would be sold after been overbought
Look for order blocks , FVGs , fib levels that could interest you if this is the case

my understanding has always been, retrace no more than 35% of the cup with volumes declining while it forms & it can often look like a flag pattern before breaking out to the upside.

it’s all which craft .. because it’s not anything until after the event

Thank you for the response. Makes sense. True patterns that work out are always a hindsight type of deal. We use the potential on patterns to validate our trades and that can get dangerous.
