US does not have interest in Iran but Israel does. Netanyahu can't influence Biden for help with Iran but can have probably some influence on Trump. Also, Trump is friendly with the Saudis so that can help as well. Also, it can be a good reason to divert resources from Ukraine and Europe as a whole without much resistance. My two cents.
