I know exactly what happened.

I have started scalping. I only want to get 250 pips to hit my target, given my stop loss distance, which you would think should be easy. I've traded just London open and been hitting my target, often without a loss for that day, for days in a row.

Yesterday evening, I tried trading that down move from 17:00hrs UTC. That 1400 pip down move. I start trading it long at about 2160-2163 think it was going to be continuing high, but it just kept gradually falling without any pull back. This was obviously at a time of the day that I should not be trading. I took a hefty loss yesterday as a result.

So today I decided to set a higher target ask we seemed to have entered a down trend, so I was targeting the next level of support at about 2145. So naturally there was a range this morning, on my lower timeframe (I use the 25 tick for entry) I was getting tons of signals in both directions but none every went enough from my entry signal to the point that it reversed and went to hit my stop.

So it was a combination of trading outside of my trading hours and revenge trading. I truly don't think I have a strategy problem from a technical perspective. I have a psychology problem. I've already read Mark Douglas and Jared Tendler's books

If we see 2135/2130, i believe the door will open for 2080/2100 as well. It's going to be a game of patience.

Not only does it seemingly know exactly where my stop loss is so as to hit it. It knows exactly where my TP is so as to avoid it.
That TP was 250 pips

2175 to 2177 Which is untested level. when double bottom or divergence signal targeting this level. Good to go..

Maybe 23% retracement is all we're getting and it's new all time highs on the way.

It's not my style to verified or predict... I just go with the trend... well this is what I see now...
Daily : still bullish..
4h : just entered a bearish...
1h and 30m : sharing a same spot... both bullish at the same time... looks like less volume and volitility for now...
... an auction 30 y bond might show us the way either the market is going to choose bull or bear.. or maybe some other news.. in other word.. its ranging now..

At least with gold going up (sorry dollar going down) like this. It brings us closer and closer to the day of the complete collapse that I'm looking forward to. If you don't have any actual physical gold, you're going to be screwed.

My gold mining stock has also hit a 52 week high this week as well which has been nice.

With 30 yr interest rates at 4.33%, it doesn't appear as if the market expects rates to fall soon!

I'm of the school who thinks they are going higher, not lower. The Fed just follows what the 2 year yield is doing. First the 2year goes up, then the Fed Funds. Likewise when it goes down. The 2 year moves first then the Fed. The 2 year is determined by the market, so in effect the Fed simply responds to what the market demands.

Interest rates are a measure of risk. It's the compensation for the risk that the investor incurs investing their money. The greater the risk, the greater the interest rate required. It is getting riskier and riskier to lend to the US, and any Western government for that matter. Not just because we are all bankrupt, but with the sanctions and now them wanting to confiscate Russian assets, governments will be more cautious about lending them money due to the risk of sanctions and confiscation of their assets if they do some thing Washington/Military Industrial Complex/The Swamp doesn't like.

I know this has probably been said before, but I see a lot of newbies and 1-15-minute charts, and I just have to say, if you are trading gold outside of the 4-hour, daily, and higher charts, then you are just begging for your money to be taken away from you. There is no reason someone without 5-10 years of experience scalping gold should ever look at any chart other than the 4-hour or higher charts. Its 1000000000% easier to lose your account when you are trading on a small time frame. Please take care.
