Hi guys, I am working on EA but I am finding some difficulties with the exit strategy and I thought I could find some advice here.

So the system rules are very simple. I am testing on daily and hourly charts for now.
- If the previous candle is green, on the opening of the new candle I am placing a long position with a fixed TP of 20 pips for daily and 5 pips for hourly. No hard stoploss.
- If the previous candle is red, on the opening of the new candle I am placing a short position with a fixed TP of 20 pips for daily and 5 pips for hourly. No hard stoploss.

While testing I added SMA to filter the trades and clarify the trend. For now, I am using 20 SMA on daily and 24 SMA on hourly.

The system is not bad you have almost 90% win rate hit TP. The lack of fixed stop loss allows the order to be open and hit TP even on messy market days.

The problem is the exit strategy. Some trades not going in your favor and even if we don't have a stop loss the price sometimes rallies in the opposite direction. This almost always leads to a huge loss in the end.

I tried a few ways, but none of these looks very promising:

1. I tried with small stop loss 1:1 - it leads to a lot of losing trades that normally go to TP
2. I tried with a huge stop loss of 100-200 pips - It leads to huge drawdowns that are very difficult to recover from.
3. I tried a type of hedging in which if the trade goes in the opposite direction we open a new trade with double the lot size. The problem is that in a ranging market, we can open too many trades and the margin in most cases is not enough. I am testing with a $1000 account.
4. I tried with a total balance % loss, so if we reach a total loss of x% , we close all orders. This again leads to huge losses that are difficult to recover from but is better than just a hard-stop loss with a huge stop loss.
5. The only thing I found better results is working with fixed lot sizes and if I have an order and it goes well we hit TP and then on the next candle we open a new one. If the price goes against us and we don't hit the TP, I am removing the TP and starting to open new orders on each candle with a fixed lot size. Sooner or later the price gets into trend and this leads to more orders in the same direction which leads the total equity to a positive number. I have pre-set for example 10 or 20 pips and then close all orders. This way I am avoiding loss, or at least big loss because sometimes on Daily the swap cuts the profits.

The system performs better with fixed lots, once I start using compounding (lot is % of the balance) this blows out the account.

Let me know what you think and if you have ideas to improve the exit strategy of this system.

Hi thanks for your pm XK let's leave all those strats alone how many do I want to monitor anyway this simple one you have done outdo all of them you just need to tweak only this one up by adding stop entry and moderate tp levels to them once the 3time frames allign and give the alert the stop entry tp could be in form of 3dots with different color how about that? If it's possible these 3dots levels will be displayed only for the current day so as not to smear up the whole chart with dots. Opportunity may come for both London and New York in a day it could be a BUY scenario for both sessions and it could be a buy /sell scenarios which means market can ha a very strong BUY trend for the day (continuation move) or (reversal move) at New York session . The TP should not be much say 20 or less. Thanks XK.

well.......,as you might already know there are various categories of indicators;
some may be suitable for trend tracking, while others might perform well in
detecting entry or exit points!
That's why it may not be a good idea to entirely rely on trend indicators for making
entry or exit decisions, as they may not provide accurate signals for precise timing!

Your problem is with TP.
You can't cheat math! You must make more profit than loss in order to profit in total.
So, taking small losses is not a problem.
The problem is to take big profits when the price is going in your direction.
So, don't put TP.
Always put SL.

Please for 3days now i search all net online, i cant find any indicator that signal this 1 close back inside candle, 1, 2 , or by candle size please kindly share if you have, or have idea where i can find
i have tried the 2 rev candle indicator/ candle_2_pattern scanner indicator they cant practically help by comparing the signals
