-It is okay to be wrong sometimes. It is also okay to have differing opinions. Takisd does not have to be right all of the time or have agreeable opinions for people to want to listen to what he has to say. People respect him because he has imparted much knowledge and made countless, positive contributions to this thread, even though he certainly does not have to do so.

But according to your link then Forex IS legal in US. Why can't then Metatrader be used in US for that purpose?
MetaTrader 4 - so many advantages.

Agreed, there's stereotypes perpetuated in every country. I married and Swedish woman who is Hungarian by blood. She's a US citizen and has been living here since the early 90's. Im well aware of the perceptions. Nearly every country has their own inherent problems and have little room to cast dispersions.

Forex is legal, however CFD's are not. CFD's are considered a synthetic swap that is not available on any centralized exchange. You have multiple liquidity providers setting the parameters.

Metatrader has been in named in assorted nefarious scams so they were told to bend the knee to US regulators.

-Yes. Having friends from different countries over the years, most initially have a generalized perception about the US and Americans etc.. Likewise, I have American friends that do the same thing, and have preconceived notions about various, other countries and their people.

OK. I understand now. Glad I am european and can continue with MT4 .

Perhaps props dropping US traders is a bit premature. But it is understandable, if not expected, especially given that most CEO's in this space look like they just got their drivers license.

In my opinion, it should not be Meta's responsibility to ensure that clients follow regulatory guidelines unless they are providing white-label services. All fully-licensed brokerages should be responsible for their own compliance (or noncompliance).

I suppose that this could be what we are seeing, though, since not all of the offshore, unregulated brokers that I trade with have lost their licenses. I suspect that one of them has found some kind of workaround, though. I would not be surprised if Meta is being very selective about who they target, though.

Good friend in the UK had mentioned its a mess everywhere, while aghast that they have had 5 PM's over the span of 4 years.
