It was, basically, a guy whose strategy was collecting swapping fees. He contacted previously TFF to make sure that this strategy was fine and TFF said it was OK.

When he got to the payout they said that the swaps were wrong ini their system (blaming third party) and corrected swaps of his PAST trades. When they did this correction the account failed a daily limit and the account was voided. They have not paid him (19K).

TFF is very known for not assuming when something is wrong with their systems. It's never their faults. It's always someonelse.

Does anybody know how props really make money? I mean, just from selling challenges?
I understand they kick out successful traders.
I read somewhere they make money on every transaction, that I could understand.
Bucket brokers make money when retailers lose, spread, and commissions, is that the same case with a prop?
But then they would need a broker license, like the one MFF avoided, and got them busted, right?

The point is, once we retailers understand their business model, then we can position ourselves accordingly. Like diversifying.

100% from fees and some possibly selling your personal data.

I'd be very happy to be proved wrong and invite any Trading Bucket Shop to provide evidence to the contrary on this thread, hell maybe even 0.5% A booked.

Even the A-booked from MFF were just to put a maximum stop loss in some traders than to make money (because most of them blown up the account when they were put in normal market conditions).

I have some doubts is any prop was able to sell trading data, if that is of any use to anyone.

Probably the best use of data is to sell personal data to vendors (and let's hope they don't sell document copies for fraudulent things).

Selling personal data or personal trades is not allowed. There are laws here. So I doubt they/the prop firms are doing this. There would be huge fines if that comes out.

I think you need to be realistic and know that there is a chance you are sometimes passing your personal ID and bank details to nefarious people. Especially to firms outside of Interpol jurisdiction.

If I was that way inclined (which I'm not but I know how some things in the world work) then what would be THE PERFECT way to farm ID and bank details? Some are more valuable than others (i.e. western world).

Sorry that I ask, but did you not say recently that you have 400k funded accounts with FTMO (and / or more funded accounts elsewhere) ?

Not currently with FTMO. I have MFF accounts that are priceless in value and I'm with another (whom I'd rather not say as I don't want to promote anyone).

He likely got paid about 1m for the 2 months work, i am not sure what the judge ordered exactly. But it seems the judge agreed he was acting on behalf of the CFTC and not the estate which is not the purpose of a temporary receiver.

I will save some opinion on the MFF goings on until next week when the defense submission is due. Once thats public record its off to the races. It will be one of those rollercoaster rides i think but i am hearing some rumors that CFTC may be quite on the backfoot.

Some rumors about who the whistle blower is too but without evidence not commenting, just remember dont believe everything you hear on youtube.

i know for sure FTMO sold my data including my phone number. I got harassed for a while by Trading Academy who sells “Forex courses “. And I had given my phone number just to register for the Free Trial (big mistake). Never traded with them.

could have been hacked tbh. There was ftmo login data circulating last year.

Same thing happened to me, but I think was Myforexfunds, maybe they didn’t sell the data but got the data breached by a hacker, and I was contacted everyday by Indian scammers trying me to invest in forex scams lol

Do you share your passwords across any other accounts. The way that FTMO was found to have data breach is the passwords were unique to them. Other people had same password at multiple props and some guy ran a script to check from the original breach at TPT.

I have been looking for other firms and so far I only have FTMO and 5ers.
I almost opened an account with Alpha Capital Group bec of the decent pricing + discount, free trial, discord with support guys and no commission across all asset class. However, when I got to the FAQs, I find their rule of "2 minutes or more average trading duration AND majority of trades should be more than 2 minutes" a little restrictive for my strategy.
I trade indices during the London and NY open and a lot of times prices move really fast, I also add to a winning position (can be 3 positions at a time). I don't think I can add the trade duration as another factor to manage so I don't breach the account or be sent back to restart the whole process (if during the eval period).

they are having some banning issues lately. Be careful. I say this warning as i did before the bespoke one - similar scenario, volume isnt there yet but there are some complaints.

What kind of complaints ? Could you more go in details, as it could have some relevance. What details do you know here on E8 ?

Just reading the recent trustpilot reviews. It seems they also have the same IP issues, which is ridiculous. No one is doing account management as there is no third party consistent trader doing this crap. Others are saying that same trades across different traders is considered as group trading which is also not allowed. Excuse only.

So these are now MFFX, E8, FN, BG, FE for account management when you have different IP. Bad excuse. So better to dismiss E8Funding too.

I also got on their radar some year ago for using different IPs. They delayed my payout but accepted my explanation and approved the payout eventually.
So this is just to confirm they monitor changes of IP addresses.
